A remarkable claim that got my attention, explained with a remarkably absurd attachment to simple correlation and bad math. Just literally invented whole cloth. I don't know why people feel the need to do this.

I’m not sure what’s more disturbing: that he keeps talking like this or that grown adults laugh at him like they’re twisted voyeurs at a sideshow act and not an audience listening to the President of the United States.
Trump: "So I'm studying him. And I made the mistake of saying that I started off by studying his ass. I just wantasink. And then I looked at his feet and they were massive. I made the mistake of studying his anatomy. Maybe I should do that with Ken Paxton, but I'm not sure your body is gonna qualify."

Yes indeed. To this today, I get furious when I walk by the aisle with coffee in the supermarket, price is now $14.99 for a 12 ounce bag. And plenty of recent, good articles about the bad effects of the aluminum tariffs.

"What we seem to be getting back to is the nineteenth century. Then politics tended to be centered on the fight between liberals (broadly speaking), and illiberals or anti-liberals.
That struggle, and the various victories and defeats of each side, defined the history of many nations throughout that era. We thought for a while that we’d moved beyond that. We were wrong."

I dunno, the likes of Google and Apple sure cared about Trump renaming stuff, as they had their map apps change the names of the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario. If this is a non-issue, then why did they do that? They're obviously concerned about some sort of retribution.

Good @WSJ dive into the World's Dumbest Tariff:
"America Needs Canada’s Aluminum. Trump’s Tariff Exposed Just How Badly." wsj.com/business/aluminum-ta…
"Trump’s trade war has cast Canada’s aluminum smelters as the enemy—and U.S. businesses and consumers are paying a price."
Yes, I saw another reply that made that point, there are clear benefits to give the executive flexibility on tariffs for certain circumstances. Problem is that Trump is applying decades-old tariff laws for purposes other than for which they were enacted. This is the aspect that should be carefully looked at.
2/2 Dimon actually praised Trump's tariffs in Jan. 2025. Zero doubt he won't hesitate to criticize the policies of the next Dem POTUS.

If a Democrat is elected in 2028, I'm waiting for this POS to recover from his current muteness and freely criticize their economic policies, as he has remained resolutely silent throught the entirety of this ongoing tariffs nonsense. Real profile in courage there. 1/2
Jamie Dimon to a country that pulled its gold out of New York: you have three armies within 400 miles, while gold in America is protected by two oceans and the US military
“If we have the strongest military in the world and the strongest economy in the world, we will be the preeminent reserve currency. It is those two things.”
“I was in a country somewhere in the Middle East, and also in Europe, and the people said, we took our gold out of the vaults in New York City and moved it to our country. You know what I said to him? I said, you have three armies within 400 miles who can come take your gold.”
“That’s the real world. You’re not thinking clearly about safety. That gold is protected by the Atlantic, the Pacific, the United States military, the rule of law.”
“But if we are not the preeminent military and economy, you will see our reserve status come down.”

the current @senateGOP and @houseGOP majority could do the below to end Trump's onerous tariffs today, but refuse to so we all continue to "enjoy" tariffs' deleterious effects.
NYT reports that among House Majority Dems' Day One priorities next year would be to pass legislation "to end Mr. Trump’s tariffs and restore congressional power over trade policy." nytimes.com/2026/10/23/us/po…

Just a reminder that when the state’s response to criminal behavior is deemed inadequate by the community, the community will take justice into its own hands. If the city thought a decarceral approach is what this community wants, the city was very wrong.

Nobody is slaughtering Russians. The Russians butcher Ukrainian civilians they get their hands on and deliberately bomb schools, hospitals, and energy infrastructure. The Ukrainians kill soldiers and strike military hardware and oil infrastructure funding Russia's war machine.
