Had such a good time sitting down with Ram Iyengar for episode 3 of After Hours.
We covered quite a bit: @openssf , SBOMs, his @open_cost talk at @k8sAMD , and his work at @cloudfoundry . What I enjoyed was getting the space to ask questions and spend time on each of these, beyond a quick conversation at a conference.
There’s a lot packed into those topics. How do we understand what’s actually inside the software we ship? How do we think about the cost of running it? And with AI becoming part of all of this, what does it take to trust the systems we’re building?
These are the kinds of conversations I want to have more of through After Hours. A chance to sit with someone doing the work, hear their perspective and learn along the way.
Ram Sir, thank you for making the time and sharing your experience. Really enjoyed having you on the podcast!
Episode 3, “Building Trust in an AI World,” is live now.

Hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did 🎙️

Anyone else think of Cloud Foundry when you see .@Cloudflare's announcement on the cf cli? I just think of cf push.
Great way to start off the day with a packed house at @cloudfoundry summit 2026

Every extra CF foundation adds another console, another tab, another context switch.
CF AppStage is one Backstage-based portal for all of them. It works with any foundation that offers the CF API v3.

"Stay on Cloud Foundry or move to Kubernetes?" is the wrong question.
Decide per workload: stay, replatform, refactor, retire. A mixed CF + K8s estate can be a target state, not a stalled migration.

New(ish) work laptop, and I found an old Be Kind @cloudfoundry sticker which now has pride of place.
From a time when tech influencers didn't build reputations with non stop hot negative takes on everything.
Be kind folks.

What's a Cloud Foundry distribution?
Think of it like this: the #opensource project is the raw framework while a #CloudFoundry distribution is the tailored, supported implementation that orgs can actually run in production as an app platform.
