Climate actions are moving fast. Science must keep up. Govts are meeting this week to decide whether key @IPCC_CH reports can be delivered by 2028, in time to guide the next phase of #ClimateAction. Decisions must not outpace the evidence. 👉 Read more here: ow.ly/aPnf50ZXmOa #IPCC #ClimateScience #AR7

#ICYMI: The global #energytransition has entered a new phase👇 ➡️Renewables remains the foundation of the transition. ➡️Electrification connects renewable power to end-use sectors. ➡️Energy efficiency delivers more with less. ➡️Grids, storage and flexibility make the system work. Energy security, affordability, competitiveness and resilience are at the centre of the global energy agenda. Read more: bit.ly/47fQ39W

The Pacific's message ahead of #COP31 is clear: defend #OClimateScience, accelerate the #EnergyTransition, strengthen resilience, and minimise the #overshoot beyond 1.5°C. There was also growing support for making COP31 a #BlueCOP, recognising the critical role of oceans in #ClimateAction. 👉👉👉Hear WWF-Australia’s reflections from Pre-COP #UNFCCC #ClimateAction #OceanAction #ClimateScience #EnergyTransition 👇👇👇

COP31 won’t be judged by what countries promise. It will be judged by what they deliver. From #ClimateWeekNYC to #PreCOP in Fiji, the conversation is shifting from ambition to implementation. What could make the difference between a breakthrough @turkiyecop31 and another missed opportunity? 🌍🌡️ We are dangerously close to crossing the 1.5 °C threshold. 🐼🌱 @WWF: Overshoot is not a reason to give up – it is a trigger to act faster. ⚠️📈 Every fraction of a degree matters. We must cut emissions, not ambition, and keep any breach as small and short as possible. 👉 Read our thoughts on this ow.ly/Fufb50ZHVH2 #ClimateAction #1Point5C #NatureForClimate
Global warming is set to cross 1.5°C, pushing climate risks and impacts to increasingly dangerous heights, a new UNEP report warns.   Predicted impacts include extreme weather and threats to human health and economies.   Action now can still limit the magnitude and duration of the peak and preserve the possibility of returning to or below 1.5°C through an ‘overshoot, peak, and decline’ pathway   Explore more: unep.org/news-and-stories/pr…

Record-breaking ocean temperatures are another ocean climate alarm bell 🚨🌊 Global average sea surface temperatures have just hit a new record high. A hotter ocean means stronger marine heatwaves, more pressure on coral reefs, rising seas and growing risks for people and nature. With #COP31 on the horizon, leaders must put #OceanAction at the centre of climate action. 👉 See WWF's ocean action expectations ow.ly/ROeY50ZF2qg

The daily global average sea surface temperature has reached its highest level on record. On 22 August 2026, data from the #CopernicusClimate showed 21.1°C, exceeding the previous record set in March 2024. 🔗Read the press release: climate.copernicus.eu/copern… ⬇️

Wow. 🔥🔥🔥🚒🚒🚒Frightening wildfires are rampaging through Spain and France...and the danger is not yet past. This is how #ClimateChange is tangible and real. We must phase out fossil fuels at speed or expect to deal with more events like these wildfires.

🚨W/ renewable power generation growing by nearly 10% in 2024 — the fastest annual increase on record — #renewables accounted for 31.7% of total global electricity generation. To align with @IRENA's global #electrification roadmap, this share must rise to 78% by 2035, around 2.5 times today's level. ➡️ irena.org/News/pressreleases…

Extremely worrying news from a trusted scientist. We cannot move fast enough to #PhaseOutFossilFuels.
With all the July model runs now in, it is very likely that 2026 will see the largest El Niño event since records began in the late 1800s – and potentially by a truly mind-blowing margin. The median estimate is now 3.6C, roughly 0.8C hotter than the prior record (2.75C).

The #SantaMartaReport, due today, must send a major political signal. Countries need a real plan for how to #TransitionAwayFromFossilFuels. The report could be the key: highlighting the legal gap, turning a global pledge into national roadmaps, finance and action. Promise made. Delivery next. ow.ly/61Uh50ZfA3I

Bonn climate talks sent a warning: the climate clock is moving faster than the talks. Negotiations remain vital. They give the global climate process legal weight, legitimacy and trust. But they cannot be a waiting room for action. Delivery is now firmly on the agenda. 👉 Read WWF's thoughts on the outcomes from Bonn ow.ly/q6FP50ZeBly
