This was Vinod’s question from a decade ago: What changes if electricity is effectively free?

russian hypersonic Zyrkon missiles are hitting Kyiv now. It is really loud. As a typical shitty under-state, russia invests all of its money in missiles. Having 30% of households without running water. This is a reminder for civilized nations: don’t forget to fund your own army.

The "megadrought" is actually a return to the historic norm for this region, which was largely settled heavily during a period of relatively high precipitation. Climate change is making it worse quickly, but don't think this is a temporary phenomenon.
Water levels are running dangerously low in reservoirs across the U.S. Southwest. Declining flows in the Gila River have pushed levels to 1 percent of capacity in Arizona’s San Carlos Reservoir. sciencenews.org/article/unit…

Or we could give people incentives to switch to electric.
my live fuel clock showing Americans now have spent $70 billion more on filling up with gasoline since March 1 (vs same period a yr ago) and $44 billion more on diesel (same dates) for a total of ~$114.2 billion spent over this time.

Project Kati 1 completed on time and on budget. (Last week) ERCOT confirmed Kati 1 &2 part of (conditional) Batch Zero Base Load. @SolunaHoldings model works. We keep pushin’ $SLNH @McnallieM Learn more here>>> solunacomputing.com/news/kat…
$SLNH An important ERCOT development for large-load and data center infrastructure projects in Texas. On September 3, ERCOT issued its Batch Zero provisional classifications to the transmission and distribution providers handling the large loads in the process. The individual project results aren’t public. For , that makes @jbelizaireCEO comments from August particularly interesting. Discussing Kati 2 and Dorothy 3, he said: β€œWe’ve submitted it into the process. I’m not sure what the classification is going to be, but we’re expecting that we’ll have some level of base load designation for those facilities.” At the time, Soluna was still waiting to see how ERCOT would classify the projects. That step has now happened. We don’t know what ERCOT decided for Kati 2, but given what Soluna has said about the existing power position at Kati and the work already underway around the AI/BESS configuration and updated grid models, I think there’s a reasonable chance Kati 2 came through this stage in good shape. There’s also another detail worth watching. ERCOT says some projects have been conditionally included while they complete verification or cure deficiencies in dynamic model data. That is very close to the type of technical work Soluna has previously described at Kati. Still speculation until we get the project-specific result. But if Soluna confirms that Kati 2 received the base-load designation management was expecting, September 3 may prove to have been a meaningful de-risking milestone for the project.

The car industry didn’t see this coming. In 2015 330k fully electric cars were sold globally ~1% of the market. In 2025 it was 14m, close to 1/5 of all new cars. The fleet on the road tells you about the past. Sales figures tell you about the future. janrosenow.substack.com/p/th…

Very grateful to have had the chance to support Soluna in their journey. This is how AI compute should be powered.
33 million tons of CO2 could be released into the atmosphere every year. From one hyperscale data center. That's roughly 7.2 million gas-powered cars driven for a year. Meanwhile, stranded and curtailed renewable energy is already available. Behind-the-meter design means no waiting and no new fossil fuel plants. Clean power is already here. $SLNH theverge.com/ai-artificial-i…
