I can't believe this is done with a paintbrush. 🤯
Just look at that level of detail.

How Napoleon Reads:
"For every subject he encountered, Napoleon jotted down what seemed most important to remember. He read fast, and cut to the essential, often skipping whole passages to get to what he believed was the nucleus of the subject. He often misinterpreted books entirely."

One of history's greatest portraits of Alexander was made for someone else's tomb.
This is not Alexander the Great's sarcophagus.
And that's what makes it insane.
Found in 1887 in Sidon, Lebanon, carved in the late 4th century BC from Greek Pentelic marble.
It's for another king - Abdalonymus, King of Sidon, who got his throne thanks to Alexander.
But look at the carvings:
Alexander charging at the Battle of Issus in 333 BC, wearing a lion skin like Heracles.
On the other side, Greeks and Persians hunting lions toghether.
And it wasn't white. It was painted. Red, blue, yellow - skin, weapons, clothes.
Ancient Greece was in full color.
It was so spectacular they had to build a whole new museum in Istanbul in 1891 just to house it.
