Cool Classics #3: From Haunting Landscapes to Sacred Emotion
In this third episode of Cool Classics, I am joined again by violinist and composer @SueAstonMusic to explore three powerful classical works—from Mendelssohn’s evocative Scottish Symphony to Beethoven’s deeply emotional Piano Concerto No. 4 and Pergolesi’s breathtaking Stabat Mater.
This series is designed to help newcomers discover classical music in an accessible and engaging way—while also offering fresh perspectives for seasoned listeners.
Featuring connections to rock and symphonic metal (including Epica), this episode explores how classical music isn’t just something to hear—it’s something to experience.
Thank you for all your support

As musicians do we in fact choose to do this as a career, or does it choose us? There is no doubt that some jobs, which are of a vocational nature, manage to burrow so deep inside the very core of oneself, that it is impossible not to spend one’s whole life dedicated to it

Happy St Piran’s Day! On 5th March every year, we celebrate St Piran, the patron saint of tin miners. He was thought to be a bishop who travelled to Cornwall after being exiled from Ireland. Here’s a pic of me and my son Lee in the parade 12 years ago #StPiransDay
