Full-Stack Phoenix course launches this Friday, November 1!
It's the most comprehensive course I've ever made: Phoenix, Ecto, LiveView, PubSub, Presence, and everything else that makes the framework 🔥.

If you don’t have a folder like this on your dev machine, are you *really* livin’ your best tech life?
The innovation coming out of Elixir/Phoenix these past few years has been truly astounding: LiveView, Livebook, Nx, Axon, Bumblebee, etc. and now FLAME. The Erlang VM is the gift that keeps on giving. Exciting times!
FLAME is out! 🔥 Auto scale by wrapping any app code in a function and have that block run in a temporary copy of your app.
It's time to rethink Serverless.
No rewrites. No bespoke runtimes. No outrageous layers of complexity. Blog + screencast 👉 fly.io/blog/rethinking-serve…
🏗️ If yesterday's video piqued your interest about Phoenix LiveView, in this step-by-step guide we walk you through building your first one:

🤔 Curious what Phoenix LiveView is all about?
Here’s our take in a 4-minute explainer video for busy developers:

🚴♂️ I started watching this while on the bike this morning, and found myself pedaling faster and faster!
Be sure to check it out for all the wonderful things you might be missing that make Elixir and Phoenix special. 💜🔥
I'm a big fan of pushing client updates with server-rendered HTML. Staying closer to your data and your authorisation layer is powerful. However, we may be repeating mistakes from the past. Check out my conversation with @t3dotgg on the topic: youtube.com/watch?v=bfrzGXM-…
💥We only have one sale a year, and it's underway!
40% off all courses through Nov. 28.
We spent a bunch of time this year updating courses, so it's an ideal time to pluck a course on LiveView, Elixir, Ruby 3.2, Rails 7, or Hotwire.

I am pretty "deep" into the Elixir World these days so I thought it was a good time to step back and enumerate all the incredible stuff Elixir and Phoenix can do for us.

👋 I’m available for a new engagement starting Nov.
If you need help building high quality Elixir/Phoenix apps, mentoring developers, TDD training, or building your next product, let’s chat!
DMs are open, and retweets would be lovely!

This is a fantastic walk-through of the brilliant engineering that's gone into LiveView optimizations over the years. Really impressive stuff! 🤩
I have documented all of the latency, bandwidth, and rendering optimizations done by Phoenix.LiveView: dashbit.co/blog/latency-rend…
Including the recent optimization just merged into main which makes client rendering 3-30x faster. Enjoy! #MyElixirStatus
The new remote execution smart cells in Livebook are super handy! Here's a local Livebook that runs an Ecto query on a remote Fly.io server and plots the results in a chart.

Are we missing resources for some topics in the Elixir community?
I'm considering making another course, but I'd love to hear what people think is missing (and why).
Replies 👇 and retweets would be lovely.

Anyone have a local Livebook connected to a production Fly.io Phoenix app? I’ve worked through this guide several times, but haven’t been able to connect to the remote node. 🤔

Wow - this is a masterful lesson in designing Phoenix contexts! I consider it a must-watch for anyone building Phoenix apps. Tough act to pull off in just 30 minutes, and German nails it. 💯
Seems like my @ElixirConf talk on Using DDD to Create Better Phoenix Contexts is out.
If that sounds interesting to you, check it out! 👇

The pendulum swings again: in the past, web frameworks *were* one person. But once applications grew in complexity and JavaScript started playing a bigger role in them, it was no longer the case.
This growth in complexity was what drove me way from web-dev back then. [1/6]

🤩 loved the blog post on @elixirlang's strong arrows that @josevalim shared. It helped clarify what they are and why they're needed.
I made a short video of my understanding. Hope it helps others understand them too! 🥳

Great insights here especially if you’re keen to create video courses as a side project. I really enjoyed the casual yet to-the-point style. Good folks to listen to, as well!
🎙New episode dropped today! ✨
@PJUllrich joins @germsvel to talk about the side projects he's built, successes and failures, and what he's working on next. Check it out! 👇
