Completely agree with this.
Button-pushers and tech demos will always be noise.
Mostly reason I left X with the third wave of the AI community guru's. Every industry has them.
The real work is in the calculated & deliberate choices, narrative intent, and pipeline architecture that makes the tool serve the creative intent that drives the story, not the other way around.
Too how many “how I made it with AI” videos focus on how the AI works and not enough on the creative choices of the humans behind the work. And this is part of the problem of selling AI as part of the workflow. I get that as people who get paid or who are fascinated by what the AI can do for us, we feel the need to prize that novel part of the process, but it’s not doing us any favors when we don’t do a deep articulation of why we are telling the story we want to tell and the choices we made (why characters look, sound, and change the way they do). We desperately need more of that.

Trailer submission for Project Odyssey and their AI competition.
I used AI that I am a creative partner with @runwayml @LumaLabsAI and @Hailuo_AI which allowed me to deep dive into directing my shots.
Using @ComfyUI @Magnific_AI @midjourney during the conceptual phase really gave me what I need after developing a solid control net/ style transfer in Comfy based on my live action images posted in my feed.
I chose trailers as my love and passion for not only the project I've been working on in anime, however my favorite stories happen to have come from that genre. Re-telling of a classic 70's film blended with some of my inspiration.

It allows me to move between directing, visual development, previs, and production in ways that were previously separated across different stages of a project.
That shift has fundamentally changed how I approach directing.
My career began in animation and motion design before expanding into creative direction across advertising, entertainment, and technology. Over the years, I’ve worked with agencies, studios, and global brands.
As the industry evolved, so did the way I approached directing. I became increasingly interested in what happens before production begins: how to define the vision, align the right people and technology around it, and create new ways for teams to move from an idea to something real.
In 2023 through 528 LAB, that AI experimentation became a real-world client creative practice since, working at the intersection of AI, emerging technology, cinematic storytelling, and production.
Today, I’m continuing to explore where that approach can go... Not only through commercial and immersive work, but through my own original filmmaking. My latest short film, Zero Gravity, grew out of that evolution, bringing together directing, AI, cinematic storytelling, and a more personal story.
Recently, I had the opportunity to reflect on that journey and where I’m headed next in a new interview with VoyageLA.
Looking forward to connecting with working with others exploring where storytelling, technology, and creative direction are going next.
