My husband, daughter and I just saw a massive bright green meteor shoot across the sky from the Nashville area. It came from the Northeastern sky, the direction of the perseids meteor shower!

Sky now will not look like this tomorrow at this time when heavy rain and strong straight line winds descend. Plan to tether beloved outdoor items and aunts, gusts 50+ MPH possible.

Anyone else besides me sick of the independent businesses closing in Nashville? The city's become a slew of chains and homogeneous stores. The unique & cool that was, is no longer.

Meet Andy Ogles.
While America is calling for "Gun Reform Now," Andy is the US Congressman for Tennessee's 5th district, which makes up part of Nashville, where a shooter just took the lives of 7 Americans, including 3 children.
Andy thinks that taking Christmas photos with his children holding large guns, makes him tough and electable.
Let Andy know what you think.

“Damaged equipment has been reported in every part of the NES service area.”
Looks like NES has their work cut out for them. We may be in the dark for a day or two.
#NESOutageAlert 5:15pm
At this hour, there are just over 115,000 NES customers without power after this morning’s storm line passed through and a wind advisory has remained in effect until 6:00pm this evening. Nearly 3,000 customers have had their power restored so far as 28 NES crews continue to work around the clock until power is restored for all. Damaged equipment has been reported in every part of the NES service area. Roughly 48 of the lines down are major transmission lines that supply power to thousands of Middle Tennesseans. Many crews are focusing their efforts on clearing storm debris from those lines so they can be reattached. At this time, we have 18 broken power poles that will need to be replaced. Additional contract crews are being identified to support the restoration effort. Look for more updates to be provided as they are available.

#NESOutageAlert 2:15pm
After a severe weather storm line passed through Middle Tennessee this morning, NES crews are actively working to restore power to more than 85,000 customers. Equipment damage includes several broken poles and many downed power lines across our service area. We are encouraging everyone to stay away from any damaged power equipment as it could still contain an electric current. Nashville remains under a wind advisory through 6pm tonight. Customers should continue to report any power outages they experience. Stay tuned for further updates as they are available.

Thinking of my former colleagues at @MyNews13. They’re a team of dedicated and fair journalists.
I never met Dylan, but I know the excitement of coming to a vibrant new city to chase your dreams in journalism. Im sorry for the stories that will never be told.
A dedicated and motivated reporter, Dylan was shot and killed while working at the scene of a homicide. Spectrum News remembers our fallen colleague. specne.ws/EeAXJZ
