One of the few sane outlets...
"It is...ironic that OpenAI, a company that has been obtaining large amounts of data from all of humankind...in an “unauthorized manner,”...is now complaining about the...practices by which it...built its company.

History will not be kind to our Labour Govt. And I think neither will voters at the next GE.
This is such a stupid statement from Reeves. It is *exactly* the sort of environmentally ignorant attitude that has brought us to this point in our #ClimateCrisis.
"We are reducing the environmental requirements placed on developers when they pay into a nature restoration fund... they can focus on getting things built and stop worrying about the bats and the newts," Chancellor Rachel Reeves says

An Israeli sniper shot a Palestinian child in the back for no reason, in the West Bank
The child is reportedly in hospital in critical condition.
No words of condemnation from cowardly Western politicians & deafening silence from the world’s media

5. This is the real philistinism: the failure to appreciate, value and defend the greatest wonder of all, our beautiful planet. And when brilliant people turn their faces away - into trivia, highfalutin or otherwise - in the midst of an existential emergency, I’m sorry, but I see that as culpable.

You think vegans are annoying?
Imagine if vegans' lifestyle caused pandemics one after another.
We all suffer because some people eat eggs, dairy, and meat.

Confession of an ex-animal eater:
We didn’t choose to eat meat—we were raised on it. We were conditioned. If you’d grown up with plant-based patties, the idea of eating animal flesh would likely disgust you, or at least you’d say, “It doesn’t taste right.”
Eating animals is just a habit, and taste is acquired. We can break that habit and enjoy food that’s both delicious and healthier.
That’s why I went vegan 13 years ago. Best decision of my life. If I could do it, anyone can. Please, go vegan. Every second, thousands of sentient beings—animals just like our beloved cats and dogs—are killed after a lifetime of suffering. And we look away.
Wake up, my friend. Let’s stop this madness together.

Here’s a video produced by “Led by Donkeys” out of the U.K. that puts down the timeline of how Musk used X to get Donald Trump elected. I would save it because I don’t think it will be up for long.

Those of us who remain on this hellsite and do not share the owner's values are the #Xdissenters. We will keep pushing back against the liars, the racists, the misogynists, the fascists. Never let the far right push you out of any space. And wear the label with pride.

Given these overlooked environmental impacts, we argue that global governments should reconsider initiatives to subsidize and scale up “blue foods” on their sustainability grounds.
“Blue food” is the seafood industry’s latest PR wave, riding a swell of academic papers. But the science is anchored in misleading omissions & broad generalizations. @jan_dutkiewicz & I teamed up for a bluewashing deep dive in @WIRED.

A ban on plastic packaging for fruit & veg would cut 13,000 tons of plastic waste, & 100,000 tons of wasted food - because bags cause people to buy more than they can use - & reduce exposure to PFAS, phthalates & bisphenols found in plastic packaging.🧵

The horrifying reality of being a woman, perfectly summarised by @_CaitlinORyan
If you give even the slightest shit about women, watch it all. This is what it’s like.
Meanwhile, in the UK… even our veg isn’t safe!

In 2017, 150k people paid Cards Against Humanity to protect a pristine plot of border land from Trump’s racist wall. But then an even richer, more racist billionaire—@ElonMusk—stole their land and dumped his sh1t all over it. ElonOwesYou100Dollars.com #ElonOwesMe100Bucks
Can someone please explain to me what “humane slaughter” is? I keep seeing it used to justify killing animals needlessly… Baffled.
