JJ McCarthy’s last 5 games when he plays more than 10 minutes. 4 starts 4-0 record in starts.

All 4 NFC North teams the Vikings, Packers, Bears and Lions will be sitting in playoffs spots when week 6 officially ends.
JJ McCarthy last year (2025) in the 4th quarter when down by 1 score 17-26 65.4%, 203 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT, 127.6
Majority QB’s need a solid run game, there are a few exceptions but one glaring example is how Sam Darnald performed last year with Kenny Walker 99.1 rating, this year without 77.4. Patrick Mahommes last years rating 89.6 without a good running game this season with Walker 106.2.
Minnesota Vikings Kyler Murray’s 2026 season 15 game pace since Week 3 (excluding Weeks 1-2)
Last 3 games averaged and projected out over 15 games:
• 3,220 pass yards
• 68.8% completion
• 6.7 Y/A
• 10 pass TDs
• 5 INTs
• 45 sacks
• 420 rush yards
• 90.0 rating

The Cardinals have struggled with and without Kyler Murray. Losing Kyler has nothing to do with their record since.
Jacoby Brissett last 17 games since taking over.

4,476 pass yards
32 TD
13 INT
~91-92 rating
+230 rush yards, 2 rush TD

I don’t get the fascination with QB Justin Herbert. What has he ever won? Is he fully committed to football? He himself has said, he is looking forward to his post playing days.
While other have debated whether Justin Herbert should be traded, the Chargers have not.

Minnesota Vikings are on their bye for week #6 and coming out of the bye will be a crucial time for QB Kyler Murray. Can he break the “Call of Duty” reputation he has? Kyler is 22-16-1 in previous seasons before the game releases and 10-24 post release. Next release October 23rd
5 weeks are now completed of the NFL season and currently all 4 NFC North teams currently sit in a playoff spot. Vikings, Lions, Packers and Bears.
Vikings have extended their win streak to 10 games after yesterday’s win over the Saints. The change in philosophy of switching to a more of a run conservative team combined with the dominate defense has carried this team. Averaging 30.4 carries and 25.7 passes during the streak.
Kyler Murray took another step forward and has shown consistent improvement each game. He did overthrow the two missed touchdown opportunities but he is improving. He also dropped his season average time to throw from 3.2 seconds down to 2.97 which should lead to less sacks taken
Just a reminder this is what JJ McCarthy did in the redzone last year.
Getting closer to JJ McCarthy time in New York and wouldn’t be surprised to see him come in sometime during the 2nd half to go against Brian Flores disciple Daronte Jones coordinated Commanders defense.
Just like last year with McCarthy, Vikings and Kyler Murray passing game fizzles out after the scripted plays are over with.
What do you need to see from Kevin O’Connell and Kyler Murray this week to start getting excited about the potential of the Vikings offense? They are playing the Saints 32nd ranked scoring defense.
He was never a fit in KOC’s offense, but the good thing is KOC (based on the 2nd half of last weeks game) is adjusting to Kyler’s strengths. Playing more shotgun and relying on the quick game. We have to attack down field at some point but we now have something to build off.
“Consequently, practice reps were basically split. Murray didn’t get the volume of snaps he likely needed to learn the offense and get in sync with his new teammates. Murray also only played one series in the preseason, depriving him of some live game action.”
-@LaVelleNeal on how the Vikings QB camp battle slowed Kyler Murray’s acclimation to the offense.
