The idea that Iran can âSabotage a US peace dealâ is nonsensical on its face. Itâs a unilateral and unprovoked attack BY THE US. The US can simply stop bombing Iran whenever it chooses. I feel like Iâm going insane
Exclusive: Who in Iran was behind attacking the three ships in July that reignited the war? The inside story of how the hardliners & a spymaster sabotaged peace deal with the U.S. and the internal fight that followed among Iran's leaders:

Remember when Kamala was running and for 5 minutes she suggested she might be in favor of a couple of rule changes to slightly rein in corporate greed and for the next month every CEO in America went on cable news to angrily demand she commit to firing Lina Khan if elected?
Law enforcers already have authority to charge companies and their CEOs for creating and releasing dangerous, unvetted, or defective products. We shouldnât let discussions about new legal regimes distract from the fact that thereâs no AI exemption from laws already on the books â a point @FTC emphasized repeatedly during my tenure.
1. There is an extensive set of laws that govern dangerous and defective products. For example, releasing unvetted AI models or agents can violate consumer protection laws. Shipping flawed AI tools without implementing adequate measures to detect and stop rogue or defective AI agents can be an âunfair or deceptiveâ act or practice under the FTC Act (and analogous state laws). And some state AGs are already exploring holding AI firms and their CEOs criminally liable when their models participate in criminal activity.
2. Existing laws also prohibit âunfair methods of competition.â This covers instances where AI firms appropriate the competitively sensitive information of their customers, including through tracking their use of various tools. It can also cover instances where firms pursue dangerous behavior, aware that doing so may compel rivals to do the same.
As the Supreme Court has noted: âA method of competition which casts upon one's competitors the burden of the loss of business unless they will descend to a practice which they are under a powerful moral compulsion not to adopt, even though it is not criminal, was thought to involve the kind of unfairness at which the [unfair methods of competition] statute was aimed."
3. The highly concentrated and interconnected structure of these markets could be creating major risks and conflicts of interest. We had started investigating these partnerships and cross-investments across the stack (and released a preliminarily overview of some findings: ftc.gov/news-events/news/preâŚ).
Both federal and state enforcers should be scrutinizing these opaque relationships and inter-dependencies. We are already seeing how these relationships could undermine accountability. For example, OpenAI could face liability given the Hugging Face incident, but Hugging Face being bought up by Nvidia means that weâre unlikely to see it file a lawsuit over this â given Nvidiaâs strong incentive to see OpenAI continue full speed ahead.
4. As AI tools dramatically change the landscape of cybersecurity risks and hacks, all businesses should be doubling down on having core security protections in place. Firms that fail to invest in adequate data security measures or fix known vulnerabilities can also be breaking the law. A recent analysis showed that around 1/3 of Fortune 100 companies do not even have a way to notify them about security issues. During my @FTC tenure, we sued firms for poor data security practices and held CEOs liable when they were personally responsible.

5. As policymakers consider new legal regimes, we should be looking to lessons from prior efforts to govern major sectors, such as banking and other networks, platforms, and utilities. Tools like structural separations, nondiscrimination, and supervision could be key, and thereâs a rich history of what works and what doesnât. But we can and must pursue any new efforts alongside enforcing existing laws.

Ok but this already happened, Claude was used to kill 130 children when the US bombed a school in Minab, Iran on Feb 28 2026, and when asked about Anthropicâs role in the attack Amodei said it was âa use case that doesn't even violate our red linesâ so maybe follow up on that??
đşđ¸ Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, on the weight of responsibility on AI leaders' shoulders:
"Iâm made fun of on social media because our modelâs biology safeguards are too strong, and biology students complain... they make jokes [they] canât use the model.
I would rather they make fun of me than wake up one day and discover that someone used our model, Claude, to kill a bunch of people.
I donât want that. So I feel both sides of it. I feel both sides of the responsibility."

This is why I find the discourse how AI might start killing us a bit puzzling. AI is already being used to kill people on a mass scale -- that's a problem that deserves the immediate response beyond any hypothetical threat

400 Jewish Democrats in Michigan -- including some big donors -- just published a letter declaring their support for Mike Rogers.
El-Sayed had recently been trying to mend fences with Jewish skeptics in the state. I spoke with one of them -- the Democratic fundraiser @charles_gaba, who is reluctantly supporting El-Sayed -- about undecided Jewish voters' concerns.
Among other things, we discussed whether El-Sayed can win over skeptics without disavowing anti-Zionism

Final NYT numbers on Haley Stevens v. Abdul El-Sayed:
â Six outside groups spent $62 million for Stevens, giving her a nine-to-one spending advantage over Abdul

â AIPAC's super PAC spent more than any single group has in a federal Democratic primary this cycle

Sky News reports that a 28-year-old Palestinian woman, six months pregnant and suffering severe internal bleeding, was being transported from Qaryout in the occupied West Bank to Rafidia Surgical Hospital in Nablus when Israeli soldiers stopped her ambulance at the Awarta checkpoint.
Video shows Israeli forces detained the ambulance crew for more than 30 minutes, subjected the bleeding, critically ill woman to a physical search, and ordered the driver to turn off the engine, cutting power to the vehicleâs onboard medical equipment.
During the forced delay, a nurse was forced to deliver the fetus stillborn inside the stranded ambulance. The woman was eventually allowed to proceed to the hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery and saved her life. The baby could not be saved.

Once again Buttigieg gives the most vapid, cowardly answer on Gaza humanly possible. He centers antisemitism, makes zero mention of the spike in Islamophobia/anti Palestinian racism, spouts empty âNetanyahu Badâ cliches and refuses to commit to any material pressure on Israel.
âWhy is Israel so central to US politics?â
There is a clear answer: Because for nearly three years, millions of Americans have watched Israel commit a livestreamed genocide against Palestinians that was only made possible by our tax dollars.
Voters are not going to tolerate yet another presidential candidate unwilling to speak directly to this basic fact.
They want to hear what the next president will do to rapidly change course: Arms embargo on Israel. Sanctions on Israel. No more diplomatic immunity for Israel.

Imagine how much of a fucking lunatic you have to be for Netanyahu to tell you that he doesn't think expanding a war is a good idea
Lindsey Graham planned to travel to Florida in early March to urge Trump to join Israel in bombing Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Before the trip, however, Netanyahu advised against expanding the conflict.
"We're concentrating right now on Iran," Netanyahu told Graham, warning that attacking Hezbollah could provoke a broader regional war.
Graham agreed, replying, "That's actually good counsel."

Khan's removal lines up neatly with the fight to neutralise Netanyahu's arrest warrant. Coincidence is a luxury intl law can no longer afford.
This proves that justice DOES threaten Apartheid Israel & Co. So if the ICC is paralysed, lawyers and judges worldwide must do more.
đ¨Against the backdrop of the dismissal of International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan, a senior Israeli official tells me that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saâar played an active role in efforts to advance the move. According to the official, Saâar oversaw a dedicated task force and employed intensive diplomatic efforts aimed at securing Khanâs removal from office.

BREAKING: Trump has cancelled plans to sharply escalate the war on Iran over concerns that Iranian attacks could dangerously drain the Pentagon's already diminished stockpile of Patriot antimissile interceptors and other air defense munitions in the Middle East close to zero, per NYT.
The Pentagon has used more than 1,200 Patriot interceptors in the war at more than $4M each, with cheap Iranian drones and ballistic missiles depleting the US inventory. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine privately cautioned that resuming major combat operations would fully deplete interceptors available to US Central Command.
A senior US official adds that continued strikes have had "the opposite effect of what is intended, keeping Iran cohesive and allowing Iranian leaders to focus attention on an external threat."

Iâm sorry this is beyond disingenuous. Youâre not for nonviolence! Youâve repeatedly say you support Israelâs right to âgo after Hamasâ with bombs and F35s. This is not a principled stance against violence as such, itâs a selective and self serving stance against some violence.
