Spent tonight working through another neglected area on chriscourses.com: Mobile (on all pages).
Feel like my eye has gotten much better over the years, mostly thanks @steveschoger 's Refactoring UI book and doing design work every day. Shout out @andyweirdesign for the incredible homepage design btw
My good friend @jqdsouza just raised his first round of funding. Major respect to one of the few people I know who will never quit in the face of adversity. Big congrats man
We’re betting our $5.5M seed round that the next leap in AI coding won’t come from OpenAI or Anthropic.
It’ll come from a new feedback loop that learns from you.
Introducing Beacon: open-source, self-improving memory for coding agents.
Your sessions capture how you debug and solve problems. Today, that context gets lost and you have to re-explain things every time you switch tools.
Beacon continuously distills your sessions into reusable skills across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and 20+ harnesses, so your next agent can learn from the last.
Beacon is free and OSS 🌟 github.com/Asymptote-Labs/ag…
Why should the frontier labs be the only ones winning with your sessions?
You already did the work. Now let your coding agents learn from you.

Someone whom i admired to learn three.js and by watching his videos i learned three.js got my portfolio applauded by him.
@christopher4lis shoutout to him watch this guy's youtube video..
Spent the weekend upgrading chriscourses.com from nuxt 2 -> 4, finally made possible via opus. Tried this so many times just to quit in the first 5% of work because of how incredibly long components would take to refactor by hand.
Finally allowed me to focus on design since prior every local change would take 20-30 seconds to reload due to legacy webpack bundling.
Still a mixed bag when it comes to how I feel about AI, but certainly useful for dreaded tasks like refactors.
quick update since i've been off X for the most part - started classes at Hunter College NYC for music, and want to restart my YouTube channel. going to give the next three months a very honest effort to post once a week regardless of the success and utilize X for accountability and updates. feel more at peace with my mind and more confident with my resolve, so i'm optimistic about things moving forward.
tonight's schedule which i'll report back on:
◻️ Study for musicianship I test 8:30pm
◻️ Finish case study 1 of portfolio 9:30pm
◻️ Run through / record next Chris Courses lesson 11:00pm
Case study #1 and landing hero complete - reused an old DNA style canvas piece I made a few years ago, think it's a great fit here for the personal brand
random, but profound quote i heard while listening to an audio book:
"The only people who never learn are those who never try. And you can begin by taking responsibility for what happens inside your mind."
helpful to keep in mind in today's information overload world
free time tonight - been forever since i've sat down and worked on a video. 1 min already done, how long does it take to do a minute more?
find out sooooon!

i've been testing mappermate recently, it's a great tool for game developers to make their tile sets, look what i made in it :)
My 2025 was a year of music, fitness, and business as a W2 employee. Lots of grinding behind the scenes, but seeing a lot of payoff.
- Led a show for the very first time as singer / guitarist
- Performed ~5 solo open mics around NYC
- Got paid to accompany a vocalist at a bar gig
- Squatted 315 for first time ever
- Broke ground deadlift PR (465lbs)
- Got back into running for first time in 13 years
- Competed in solo and double Hyrox with @jqdsouza
- Helped a company IPO as a lead engineer
- Made a wee bit of $ from my newest app (@mappermate)
- Visited Portugal, Croatia, and Argentina
Already scheduled out some of 2026, including restarting my YouTube channel and possibly creating a new one. Let's see where things go and where the world takes us with the crazy onset of AI.

My 2025 wrapped in 8 points:
1. Wrote + published 5(!) Substack essays
2. Competed in DC + Boston Hyrox with the incredible @christopher4lis
3. Ran the Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon in ~1:38
4. Wrapped my time at the rocketship @DoppelHQ — endlessly grateful to have learned from the best: @rahul_madduluri and @KevinTian00
5. Began my founding journey with @shakshukan, started deep at -1 and approaching 0 now
6. Joined the @spc F25 fellowship program, lucky to have world-class investors + operators like @JPBrebner @ditzikow @msanvido in our corner
7. Spent a few days in the air: 14 flights, mostly NY <> SF (+ Boston, Toronto, DC, Montreal)
8. Deepened old friendships and made new ones through SPC — met brilliant folks like @michaelfanous1 @paranirmal9 (and many more).
Couldn't be more excited for what's to come next year!
Quite proud of these features I was able to add in the last couple of days with a locked-in mindset. Trying to make my app as enjoyable to use as possible and its getting better every iteration.
Real game made with it when?
Been meaning to add a @MapperMate tutorial for forever now. Finally done and pushed live.
One more killer feature for the app and I think it's going to be the best tilemap editor out there.

Been working my ass off this year at next leveling my guitar playing. Finally getting to the point where I'm feeling confident with a lot of techniques that used to seem impossible (vibrato, improv, tremolo).
Couple of clips from my show last night:
Much appreciated mention 🫡
