Finally arrived at #IAC2022. Admit to getting turned around in the Expo, took me over 45 mins to find the actual exit, though through the exploration I did net two coffees, a WIA pin, Brazilian SA lanyard and several plans to meet up for more coffee.
Interesting bit of random science news I came across today, looking up something entirely unrelated (at least to my mind, apparently not to ad-engines). rvc.ac.uk/research/research-…

I post this image a lot on Twitter in response to people talking about Scottish weather. It’s probably one of my favourite images. It is an annual rainfall map (higher the peak, higher the rainfall). I’m so glad that Edinburgh is in the flat!

I had to pause my online talk and go on mute because the hail was so loud against the windows and skylight the others else couldn't hear. Could we go back to last weekend's weather?

Leveraging my daughter's artwork, who incidentally drew this unbeknown to me after surfing through tv shows. It is an open art space, if your kids or you (lured by crayons late at night, under the guise of your kids of course) want to join in. stardust-network.eu/outreach…

Being monday, this seems correct to post a historical romp on coffee, and specifically the #moka. It is still my favourite way to make coffee, though I admit ours is unloved at the moment due to a broken seal ring. atlasobscura.com/articles/ma…

I made pancakes this weekend; they launched a sounding rocket. I am going to have to step up my game.

I have fondness for systemic classification. By nature it is simplified, but gives me hope of understanding the bigger picture. This is a neat one on control theory..
