Kalvin Phillips was voted as Sheffield United's player of the match yesterday after another great performance for the Blades. Some Sheffield United fans are already claiming him to be 'the best midfield general we have ever had'. Although not every Sheffield United fan might agree, I think the wider footballing world would agree that it is absolutely wonderful to see this man finding his feet again and getting back playing decent football. Through the years we have lost so many English talents who took moves to big clubs where it didn't work out - Sancho, Grealish, Kalvin, Mason Mount, even the downfall of Dele Alli. It is such a shame when another player goes to waste due to the high depth at these top clubs. Fair play to Kalvin for finding his feet and his football again, we really hope he manages to get back to where we all know he is capable of being 👏🏻

I personally don’t think Gary Speed was selfish, or Graham Thorpe, or Ricky Hatton, or David Bairstow, or David Kelly, or Justin Fashanu, or Chester Bennington, or Chris Cornell, or the 6,190 people who died by suicide in the UK in 2024. It remains the biggest killer of men under 50 and women under 35, if you’re struggling call Samaritans on 116 123.
