And how long do you wait when you don't have insurance? Or if you have a high co-pay. Or a high deductible...
FOX: You look at places in Europe, what you get is people waiting so long…
El-Sayed: Do you know average wait time for cardiologist in America is? 2-1/2 months. A lot of other countries don't wait as long to see a cardiologist. The idea that you point to another country and say they failed on this statistic—that we’re not also failing—that is a problem.

If USAID was systematically keeping the Latin American left in power, why didn't countries with decades of USAID involvement consistently elect left-wing governments? Instead, power has repeatedly moved between left and right.

MPR has a Flanagan–Tafoya debate scheduled for October 16 at noon, with both candidates listed as participants.

That 22-26 time window is doing a lot of work. The Case-Shiller index starts Jan. 2000. In 7/26 it was 333.2. Production/nonsupervisory wages were $32.42/hr. Current ratio is about 10.3. Around 2000 it was roughly 7. We're still nowhere near the housing/wage relationship of 2000.
About 96% of the spending on ads that disclosed AI use came from GOP campaigns or groups.
Good piece from CNN colleagues about the proliferation of AI in 2026 campaign ads, including deepfakes of candidates. The vast majority is from the Republican side; about 96% of the spending on ads that disclosed AI use came from Republican campaigns or groups, a CNN analysis found: cnn.com/2026/10/02/politics/…

Suppose bottom-half wealth per household rises 50% after adjusting for inflation, while houses rise 100% relative to their incomes. Both statements can simultaneously be true:
"They're wealthier in real CPI-adjusted dollars."
"Homeownership has become less attainable for them."
Ironically enough, Trump's actions (in Iran) is helping Venezuela because of higher oil prices. It could lead to less immigration if Venezuela gets back on track.
In 2014, the World Bank described the oil-price collapse as an important trigger of Venezuela's crisis.

Currency-using governments can default.
Currency-issuing governments cannot default. We don't need treasury securities. We could just stop issuing them if we wanted.
!!! The obstacle isn’t that the United States lacks dollars and therefore must find someone willing to lend them. The obstacle is that Congress has created a legal framework under which the Fed currently lacks authority to credit Treasury’s account this way. Congress could enact
America.gov says treasuries are not needed to fund the government.
