Continuing the trend of Quinns and myself being flung into lavishly-designed roleplay experiences, here's what happened when we boarded a £4,000,000 starship together in London:

And a big thanks thanks to @AnnaHollinrake and @JCVIM for coming along with us and also, for agreeing to strap GoPros to their heads. We couldn't have asked for better crewmates.

First stream day of the new year! Going live at 4 PM ET with special guest @chrisbratt to discuss People Make Games' new video about workplace abuse at outsourcing studios in SE Asia, as well as studios and streamers evacuating California wildfires and our predictions for 2025

Back in 2021, PMG reported on the unseen crunch taking place at outsourcing studios in SE Asia. Since then, the companies we looked at have continued to work on some of the biggest games in the world, without any push to improve conditions for the artists doing that work. (1/7)

Now parts of this story have already gone viral in Indonesia, with the alleged abuser having now fled the country/police.
But outside of SE Asia, almost nobody seems to be aware that anything has happened. Why is that? I think that's an important part of this story too. (6/7)
If you watched PMG's video on Palestine last year, you'll know about @RasheedAbueideh and his story.
He's a Palestinian game dev, living in the West Bank, and experiencing the horror of a genocide many of us can only witness through a screen halfway around the world.
In that video, from a year ago now, Rasheed spoke about his plans to tell the story of the 1948 Nakba ('The Catastophe') through his next project.
Unfortunately, no publisher has dared touch a game that looks to tell Palestine's own history.
So it's up to all of us instead!
Today, Rasheed and his team are announcing Dreams on a Pillow and are looking to crowdfund its development.
Let's show them how much we all have their back:

When we fight, we win!
@ZeniMaxWorkers are on the picket lines in Maryland and Texas to make their voices loud and clear to Microsoft about outsourcing and RTO mandates in a first contract. ✊💪

I'm sorry if you can't find me on campus today. I'll be in front of Zenimax in Rockville today marching in solidarity with the people who QA some of your favorite games.
