Reading Proverbs 16:1-3 today. Speaks to this.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

I used to think P.J. Fleck was a little crazy with the whole “Row the Boat” thing. After hearing the story behind it, I get it completely. Respect, Coach Fleck. You gained a fan today. ROW THE BOAT. 🚣‍♂️

Let’s be honest. I’m still flying Delta. I’m diamond like many on here and they are the best airline in the business. But bro, give the customer what they want! Business 101. This shouldn’t be a difficult decision for them. Crazy how important it is to put a CEO at the head of your company that is going to lead without making it about himself and whatever personal beef he has. Your job as CEO is to put the company first, the shareholders first and more importantly the customers first.

Buy a house you can afford on one income. Keep the old car. Have three kids. Eat pancakes on Sunday mornings. Take camping trips. Coach their little league teams. Invite neighbors over for dinner. Put $1,000 a month into investments. Pay off the house before 50. Then spend your 60s watching your grandkids play in the backyard. That’s a life worth getting rich for.

Loved this show! Launchpad!
DuckTales premiered 39 years ago today. I loved that show. Not for the gold. For the idea that adventure meant going somewhere wild with people you love. It was Indiana Jones for kids. Nobody's making the movie, so I made the trailer. Sound on. 🦆

President Bush throws the first pitch of Game 3 of the 2001 World Series after 9/11 As silly as it sounds, it was important for him to throw a strike. No matter what you think of him, that was clutch/badass. Used the regulation rubber as well. Big time... 25 years later and I still think this is the greatest ceremonial first pitch ever

People say: "I wish one middle-class income could support an entire family like it did in the 1950s." Okay. Then take the entire 1950s package—not just the parts you romanticize. • No Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, or endless subscriptions • One small TV with 3 channels, if you're lucky • One basic car for the whole family • No yearly vacations or cheap flights across the country • No smartphones, laptops, gaming consoles, or internet • Every meal cooked at home from scratch • Kids sharing bedrooms • A house under 1,000 sq. ft. for a family of 4–6 • One bathroom for everyone • Little to no air conditioning in many places • Clothes repaired, reused, and handed down • Eating at restaurants was an occasional luxury, not a weekly habit The comparison isn't just income. The average household today consumes far more space, technology, entertainment, travel, convenience, and services than the average household did 70 years ago. That doesn't mean housing, healthcare, and education aren't more expensive today—they are. But when people compare lifestyles across generations, they often compare a 1950s income to a 2020s standard of living. Those aren't the same thing. If you want the economics of the 1950s, you have to accept the lifestyle of the 1950s too.

A portion of my life is chasing check engine lights. Keeping all of our vehicles running with six drivers in the family and not having a car payment in many years I’ve noticed the value of my vehicles actually took a modest tick up Lol. Wonder how common this is?

If you pass kids selling lemonade, you stop, buy lemonade, overpay, complement the kids, and drive on your merry way. Those are the rules.

Rock, hay, and an air-conditioned restaurant made one heck of a classroom. Those skills and that perspective are worth finding ways to pass down.

Boring: "I invest in index funds." Exciting: "I invest in thousands of the biggest companies in the world." Same thing. Different perspective.
