I see NIL and the way football is going impacting HS football in a VERY negative way.
Coaches think they can win with the flashy new toys instead of the hard workers and grinders they’ve always said they wanted.
Even when the hard workers are factually faster and bigger and better than the flashy new toys with fancy twitter handles and their own film crew making highlight videos. They move in and become a cancer - and coaches think they can coach around it.
For all you guys out there dealing with that. Stay your course and don’t change who you are. maintained your own CHARACTER! Guard it! Don’t let this crap Rob you of your love for the game! Be you. Run your race. Play your game. Be the man you are.
Get to a place that knows who they are and values the hard worker, the quiet leader, the one who wants to lead by example and then empowers those kids to lead the team.

Teach your boys the basics.
My wife, @MontanezSm68534 is a master at this.
Now, you see a picture of the our youngest son here doing housework and think “oh how nice” - but not really lol. - it’s a constant reminder daily with these boys especially to do these things until it sticks. It’s a grind. Then you 🙏 pray and hope it sticks when they get married so they they aren’t a horrible spouse who doesn’t clean up after themselves. lol 😂 that’s the fact.
It’s DAILY grind as a parent. And it wears you out. And eventually you see it sticking. Hopefully. So - to the parents out there: you’re doing a good work. But don’t forget. It’s work. Take a breather and have grace on yourself and your kids. It’ll all come together. Just keep filling up with Jesus and pouring out good into your kids even when it seems harsh.
