Keep an eye on it closely and you'll start to see that the whole shutdown (problem) was to make healthcare a nationwide topic that (Congress created) in order for Congress (to apply their fix.) Socialized Medicine, Universal Medicare for all.
🚨Democrat Wall Cracks.🚨 Eight Senate Democrats broke with their party leaders to vote in favor of a House-passed continuing resolution Sunday night, taking a major step toward ending the government shutdown. Here are the Democrats who allowed it to happen. Sen. John Fetterman Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto Sen. Jacky Rosen Sen. Dick Durbin Sen. Jeanne Shaheen Sen. Maggie Hassan Sen. Tim Kaine Sen. Earning win #1 with a strong statement! The 18th-ranked Wheaton football team rolls past the Augustana Vikings in Rock Island to kick off the CCIW schedule in style! Tonight's scoreline marks Wheaton's highest point total in a conference opener since 2008 and its largest margin of victory in the CCIW opener since 2002. The Thunder allowed only 72 total rushing yards, zero passing touchdowns, and pitched a three-quarter shutout in a smothering defensive performance on Saturday. Wheaton's offense put up 439 yards, and five different offensive players found the endzone tonight. Rex Kroger (pictured here, #2) converted a 67-yard pick six to open the scoring and posted one tackle for loss. Luca Torti led the Thunder with ten total tackles and six solo stops, while Peter Johanik (#54) tallied five solo tackles and a game-high two tackles for loss. Mark Forcucci was 12-15 this evening for 175 yards and one touchdown, while Seamus O'Connell was a perfect 5-5 with two touchdown passes. The special teams unit made a huge play in the second quarter when Zac Schloemer blocked a Vikings punt attempt and Ayden Doran returned the loose ball for a touchdown. Next up for Wheaton is the team's home opener and Homecoming game next Saturday, as the Thunder host Carroll University in a 1 PM matchup at McCully Stadium. #LetsRoll – at Glen Ellyn, IL

Delano Squires, a fellow at the Heritage Foundation, is an excellent writer on culture, family, and individual responsibility. That is why I find it puzzling that black men of his contingent—men who seem sincere in their mission to repopularize character and integrity in the so-called black community—often refuse to grapple honestly with the fact that some of the most celebrated heroes in black culture have, both rhetorically and politically, done far more to undermine progress than to advance it. By inadvertently promoting a mindset of entitlement and discouraging family formation and a strong work ethic as the traditional means of stability and success, these figures have left behind a legacy that is deeply corrosive. In my view, the refusal of Squires and others to confront this contradiction weakens their otherwise optimistic message. We cannot hope to reclaim our footing and restore traditional values while continuing to exalt leaders who were, in reality, champions of social justice ideology—that is, a soft form of Marxist subversion. So long as MLK remains enthroned on his cultural pedestal, black Americans will be conditioned to see themselves as permanently “in the struggle.” This framing shifts responsibility away from personal agency and inward reform, placing it instead on external forces and political policy. The inevitable consequence is that our greatest emphasis falls not on addressing self-inflicted harm or cultivating internal discipline, but on appealing endlessly to systems outside ourselves. Until we reverse that narrative, calls to rebuild character and reclaim responsibility will always be undermined from within.

I see Nicola Sturgeon is once again complaining that I posted a picture of myself wearing a T-shirt with her name on it and the legend 'Destroyer of Women's Rights.' Apparently this didn't 'elevate the debate.' Is there a clinical term for an individual who has extreme thinness of skin when it comes to their own perceived hurts, coupled with a rhino-hide when it comes to the fear and suffering of others? I'm thinking in particular of the two women Isla Bryson raped, who had to watch their First Minister squirm and smirk on TV as she tried to avoid admitting he was a man; of the five survivors of male violence who were ready to give evidence to Sturgeon's committee on gender self-ID, but were told to put their concerns in writing while seventeen trans-identified people appeared in person; of the mother of a young girl with a learning disability who campaigned against self-ID because she wanted her daughter to be guaranteed same sex intimate care, should she need it (the mother was presumably one of those female opponents Sturgeon calls 'shrill' and 'hysterical' in her memoir); of the ten-year-old girl sexually assaulted in a public bathroom by a 6'5" paedophile who served his jail sentence in a women's prison because he called himself 'Katie'; of Sandie Peggie, forced to discuss her own menstrual history in public to justify not wanting to undress in view of a 6ft straight cross-dresser in the nurses' changing room; of Marion Millar, dragged into court because she tweeted a picture of suffragette ribbons; of the Scottish rape crisis centres reliant on government funding who were pressured to admit trans-identified males into their services if they wanted funding to continue. When Sturgeon refers to an 'elevated debate', she means a discussion that takes place within a tiny, smug bubble from which regular women suffering real life consequences of her policies are firmly excluded. These faceless ants are loftily dismissed as bigots, or, to be more precise: 'transphobic, misogynistic, homophobic, maybe racist as well.' Nicola, you hated the T-shirt picture because you couldn't ignore it, as you'd ignored so many other women trying to make you understand their concerns. Appeals to your empathy, your intelligence and your compassion all failed. Apparently the only way to get through to you is through your vanity.

A headline honor for a record-breaking player! The CCIW has named Wheaton's accomplished running back, Giovanni Weeks, as its 2024-25 Men's Student-Athlete of the Year. The CCIW Men's Student-Athlete of the Year award, formerly known as the 'CCIW Man of the Year', honors senior men's athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service and leadership. Weeks was selected through nomination and voting processes conducted by the league’s Senior Woman Administrators and Faculty Athletics Representatives. Gio becomes the fourth male student-athlete from Wheaton College to earn this distinction and is the first CCIW football player to collect the award since Wheaton's Corey Kennedy did so in 2019-20. Weeks' recognition means that Wheaton is the only school in the conference to have four Men's Student-Athlete of the Year honorees. A full story with more award details can be found on both the Wheaton Athletics and CCIW websites. #LetsRoll – at Wheaton, IL
