The Ravens are a very top heavy team. When healthy, Lamar Jackson can lead them to a win on any day. Derrick Henry can take over a game. Kyle Hamilton is one of the best players in football, and Travis Jones and Trey Hendrickson are impact pieces. Today showed a lot about the rest of Baltimore’s roster, things that have popped up already this year. Cleveland’s DL controlled the line of scrimmage, and Baltimore’s OL hasn’t set the tone nearly enough this year. The Ravens offense missed Bateman (shoulder) today, and they don’t have enough winners/separators at receiver when they have to play a traditional shotgun game. The way they need to win is under center early down, and when Cleveland shut that down there was no counter today with Jackson injured and Huntley at QB. Against the defense, if you avoid Hamilton (like offenses avoid Dexter Lawrence), you can find ways to move the ball. You can find great matchups against the secondary (Martin got targeted today, the safeties have struggled, they’re thin at corner, they sub off linebackers and play Hamilton there). Jackson, Henry, Hamilton, etc. make them a scary matchup because of their elite talent, and their OC is really smart. But it’s a more flawed depth chart. The tape from the last six games showed an inconsistent team.
