Today marks 18 years I've worked at @WRAL. My career here has reached adulthood! 😆 I’ve now lived in Raleigh longer than any other city in my life. This is home. Thank you for making it so. ❤️

Like many of you, I am concerned that freezing federal funding will hurt North Carolinians, especially those recovering in WNC. My office is currently reviewing and seeking clarity about what OMB’s order to freeze federal grants means for our state. We are also working with federal partners to ensure people in WNC get the support they need.

Last week's temperatures here were comparable to January in Poughkeepsie, New York and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. @chouchoutv pointed out that we're often much less cloudy, though. Here's why: ⬇⬇⬇ wral.com/21832252/

Ask the Meteorologist: Why are our winters brighter, less cloudy than up north?

It felt like Poughkeepsie and Pittsburgh last week, but it didn't look like it. Why?

Yancey County, yes folks this is not a war zone. This is Yancey County in the Bald Mountain/ Burnsville area; I received these photos from Yancey County Sheriff Deputy Daniel Joyner. He said please share with the world how bad it really is, and pictures don’t do it justice #ncwx
