I’m not old enough to blame what happened on absent-mindedness … it was a hasty case of “running late for kick-off” - so we parked the Vespa as close as we could and high-tailed it to our Greenpoint Stadium seats for the Stormers-Sharks showdown yesterday.  At the 70th minute (game in hand) I started thinking about our exit and felt for my keys … nothing! I went cold - must’ve left them in the bike … couldn’t focus on the game after that so I rushed out hoping that by some miracle the bike would still be where I left it.  The bike WAS there, but where keys were - there was now a crumpled up note that simply said: “You left your keys in the motorcycle, call this number.”  Turns out the miracle has a name … Constable Langenhoven and his fellow metro police officers. They pitched up a few minutes later saying tut-tut with some shaking heads (that I fully deserved) but broad smiles and that little Vespa key that I had to describe in detail before reclaiming it.  Big thank you to CST Langenhoven (whose handwriting is at least more legible than mine) for the good deed. I asked for permission to take a pic and post the story … “on one condition” they all said: “That you tag JP Smith!” 😂👊 @JP Smith these guys deserve a shout out.
