Meta and Quantsight have teamed up to enhance key libraries, making Python packages faster and easier to use. We've made strides in two major areas: Free-threaded Python: Unlock true parallelism by leveraging Python 3.13's support for concurrent programming, removing the Global Interpreter Lock (GIL). Improved Type Annotations: Boost developer velocity with enhanced type annotations, especially in the pandas-stubs package, where coverage has increased from 36% to over 50%. 🔍 Why It Matters: These improvements not only enhance performance and developer experience but also pave the way for more efficient and scalable Python applications. 🤝 Join Us: We're just getting started and need your help! Whether it's contributing to type annotations or preparing your code for free-threaded Python, your involvement is crucial.
