Nathan Fielder: do you see how, when you say “$108 million in revenue”, people could understand that to be more than $100,000?
Elizabeth Holmes: I don’t understand
Billy Evans: you have your own beautiful view on the world and that’s why I love you

Grateful for this level of support going to Dems. Amazing! But to everyone complaining about campaign spending: you plan and staff a race with zero money, then get hit with a tidal wave of cash in the final weeks that's almost impossible to spend efficiently. We should talk about this more!
NYT: Bloomberg Gives Democrats $80 Million in 11th-Hour Midterm Push
The money from the former New York City mayor and megadonor, who is focused on ensuring a sizable Democratic House majority, will help cut into Republicans’ financial advantage.

this is so important.
take Virginia for example. for every $1 in “rural health transformation” the feds gave, they cut $30 from Medicaid.
the feds are *barely* propping up rural health. more like they want to look like they’re propping it up, for now.

It should haunt Republicans. It was ghoulish policy to cut Medicaid and give tax breaks to rich people. The public was clearly opposed to such a cartoonishly bad law and yet Republicans enacted it anyway.
Trump-GOP Medicaid cuts are haunting Republicans.
They voted to take hundreds of billions from the program, and now they can’t talk about anything else without being asked about it.

Did Elizabeth Holmes coming after me and my sources with everything she had and threatening to sue us out of existence bias me? Yes.
Replying to @JohnCarreyrou @nytimes
I am a big fan of you, don’t get me wrong. but My question is do you think you have any bias as a result of your experience as a journalist in this case?

Not only is constituent services good government and good for persuasion, it’s a gold mine for effective comms.
"After weighing these factors, Paulk has decided for the first time in his life to cast a ballot for a Democrat -- incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff. He doesn't agree with the Democrats on all issues -- notably, abortion -- but it's Ossoff's help in getting federal aid after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc on Paulk's grape crop that won his vote"

CONSTITUENT SERVICES ARE SO IMPORTANT AND UNDERRATED AND IT'S SO IMPACTFUL IN ELECTIONS AND IT DRIVES ME CRAZY HOW MANY OFFICIAL SIDE OFFICES DON'T FOCUS ON IT

First lady Melania Trump is calling today's executive order a "transformative moment" for women's health. But this is a topic Jill Biden spearheaded back in '24. The Trump administration subsequently made cuts to programs impacting women's health research:

states’ rights!
(to create a public option on the health insurance marketplace)
The public option got cut from the Affordable Care Act, but an obscure waiver that was included has since been used by 3 states to launch their own public options.
I wrote about these policy experiments and what they could mean for 2028 and beyond:

every administration runs into this moment when blaming the last guy sounds tone deaf and it’s tough to turn the ship of the US economy in 2 years
the problem is that the policy decisions they made have tangibly made people’s lives worse in the short term, too
WELKER: What do you say to voters who say they're struggling and want change?
BESSENT: Well, why don't we revisit the Biden-era policies
WELKER: President Trump has been in office now for 636 days, and inflation was at 3% when he took office, it's 3.7% now. At what point does the administration take responsibility?
I also loved the movie and recognize that having Nathan Fielder on screen really downplayed how dangerous these people are.
A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.
