A couple of weeks ago, I set out building @netglossary, a dictionary for jargons around networking, cloud, and infrastructure. It's not ready yet, but you can check out the website and sign up for the waitlist. netglossary.net

"Men became providers because they restricted women from providing for themselves" - you dumb idiots.
This was the 1890s. Women didn't get the right to vote until 1920.
Can you see how hard it was to live back then, you dumb feminists?
How much do you think that little job she is doing is going to keep her alive for long?
Men worked in coal mines, on oil rigs, on the sea, building railroads with their bare hands. Average male life expectancy was 40s because the work killed them.
Women made things from home to sell or worked as midwives. No light, no running water, no birth control, no hospital. 1 in 5 kids died before age 5.
Your great-grandparents were suffering and doing their best to raise children and not die of starvation.
Now y'all have laptops, social media, COMPUTERS, AC, and advanced technology that has created millions of easy jobs. You do OnlyFans from your bedroom and call it work.
Stop saying shit about the past you know nothing about. If y'all faced a quarter of what they went through, you would shut the hell up.

A few algorithms I regularly force myself to review so I don’t forget how they work:
• Kadane’s → Maximum subarray sum
• Rabin-Karp → Substring search with hashing
• Topological Sort → Ordering a DAG
• Prim’s → Minimum Spanning Tree
• Kruskal’s → MST with Union-Find
• Dijkstra’s → Shortest path (no negative weights)
• Bellman-Ford → Shortest path (with negative weights)
• Tarjan’s → Strongly Connected Components
• Backtracking → Sudoku Solver
These are the ones I keep coming back to years later.
Which algorithms do you still periodically revisit?

I once stayed up until 3am debugging an issue.
Checked the code, it was clean.
Checked the logs, nothing obvious.
Checked the database, looks fine.
Checked the network, all good.
Spent 4 hours going in circles.
Then I remembered I hadn't checked the environment variables.
Immediately, I checked and saw the wrong API key in production.
4 hours gone.
5 seconds to fix.
The best debugging tip I have been using so far:
Check the logs first, then check the boring stuff like config, env variables, credentials, and restarts.
The answer is rarely in the code.
What's the most embarrassing root cause you've ever found?
What does "git rebase" actually do?
In this guide, you'll learn:
• What "git rebase" does behind the scenes
• How it differs from "git merge"
• How to resolve rebase conflicts
• When rebasing is safe—and when to avoid it

When you collapse the journey in favour of a faster and stressless achievement of the end result, what does that do to the journey itself? Is it worth engaging in anymore?
Success is basically your access to resources that can help you survive and multiply. That can be translated to whatever you call success. It's all better access to resources that can help you survive. And that's what civilization has always been about.

Your Docker image is 1.2GB and takes 4 minutes to build.
It should be 80MB and build in 20 seconds.
Here's how to fix it:

Interviewer: How do you handle

What's wrong here?

The difference is almost certainly in "preflight requests".
The request "/api/users" likely handles simple GET requests, which browsers send directly and only need CORS header on the response.
On the other hand, the request "/api/orders" probabily involves a POST with "content-type: application/json" or a custom header. This makes browsers to first send and OPTIONS request (preflight), asking the server which methods/headers are allowed.
If the CORS middleware doesn't explicitly handle or excludes OPTIONS, or if "/api/orders" throws an error before the CORS headers are written, the preflight fails and the real request is blocked.

An OTP is valid for 60 seconds, but the server never stores it.
How does it verify a code it doesn’t even 'know'?🤔

You’re a DevOps engineer.
You run this command to create a Pod:
kubectl run my-pod --image=nginx
A few minutes later… the Pod goes down.
What happens next?
A) The kubelet recreates it
B) The Pod stays down
