Hello everyone, late last night and through this morning (ET), a third-party service we rely on had an outage that impacted chess.com significantly. For many of you that meant the site was slow or wouldn't load, trouble matching with opponents, streaks not updating, or even not being able to log in.
The third-party service has been restored, and we're mostly back to normal. We know how frustrating this was for you, it was for us too. We'll be working to make sure such a third-party outage can't have this impact again.
Heads up: Vacation Time Changes Take Effect For All Members On July 1
At the start of this year, we updated how Vacation Time works. As part of that change, there was a 6-month period for anyone who had more time than the new cap limits to use that vacation time. Starting July 1, the new caps kick in for all members.
- Non-Premium members: up to 15 days (+2 days per month)
- Premium members: up to 30 days (+3 days per month)
If you currently have more vacation time than the above, your time will be updated to the new limit on July 1.

Conditional moves are now available on iOS!
In Daily games, conditional moves allow you to pre-program specific future moves that will be automatically played if your opponent makes a predicted move.

A search function is now available on our Analysis page!
Whether you're looking for games from masters, other members, or even your own, the new Search Games feature should make your life easier.
The real power of this tool lies in its advanced filters. From there, you can refine your search to find exactly the games you're looking for. In addition to the player's name and the color, you can filter by:
- Player rating
- Time control
- Opening
- Game result, along with the specific way a game ended (by checkmate, time out, resignation, etc)
- Whether it's a regular, tournament, or team match game
- Rated or unrated games
- Number of moves
- Date

A chess simul is an exhibition where one person, who is usually a stronger player, plays multiple games against different opponents at the same time.
Did you know you can host a simul on our platform?
Any premium member can host their own simul exhibitions on the site. To do that, you first need to turn that option on by going to our Play page and clicking the settings icon, which looks like a cog.
You must then select the Play tab and then the Live tab to see the Multiple Games option. Turn that feature on, and you'll be ready to host your simuls!
