Yo, #PortfolioDay - I’m Dave Kennedy. I’m an artist and illustrator, currently making comics with the living God John Carpenter & scribbling fan art/posters for kicks on the side. Bother me at dave@cherrysheriff.com or Cherrysheriff.com
A little detail from a piece I have in the upcoming Ultraman ArtBook from @PrintedinBlood - which hits Kickstarter today, over at ULTRAMANBOOKS.com Drawing the big fella was a real treat as my son is a massive fan & I like it when I look cool to him. 🙂
Happy #GodzillaDay everyone!
Big dude is looking very sprightly for a 70 year old. #sketch #Procreate @Legendary
A simple establishing panel. Easy.
But wait? What’s this?
My DETAIL DEMON is whispering again. ‘Yes, you need to put every single stair on that oil rig. It’ll look RUBBISH if you don’t’.
And THAT is why comic artists can’t afford to buy jets.

Dug this old Bandit sketch out at the wknd while chatting cars with a mate. I still play Eastbound & Down in the car & turn to a 4th wall camera now & then. Burt Reynolds had more impact than he knew, I reckon. #ink #sketch #smokeyandthebandit #transam
Good Lord, there are some unreal artists sharing their work using the #PortfolioDay hashtag. I highly recommend having a wander around to take them all in.
Here’s my humble selection.
I’m Dave. I make comics & draw posters. And draw faces on fruit for my kid.
Thanks so much to @prestoncomiccon and @W0nkyR0cket for having me as a guest today. And thanks to everyone who stopped to chat, buy my scribbles or listen to me and @NickBrokenshire chat about comics. That was a genuinely lovely day. :) #prestoncomiccon
Would you look at THAT! A foil variant of my Matrix art - from @collectsideshow ! Just popping a time-email off to 27-yr-old me in 1999 to let him know…
YO, DAVE. LOOK AT THIS.

Here’s a Mando sketch I did at a con earlier this year.

Am I still banging on about my Matrix print? Of course I am. It’s been lovely getting so much nice feedback. It’s really been very appreciated.
James over at @MoorArtGallery has put together a nice post about how it was made. Enjoy!
Aw man, that’s made my day. It’s very appreciated. I think it was worth twisting my brain to it’s limit to figure out how to draw this. If nothing else, it prepared me for subterranean life :)
(Sales pitch alert) Head over to @MoorArtGallery to nab one :)
