Something I meant to share for a while but didn't get around to: new paper in @JChemPhys (one of my favorite journals)! We identify and analyze key mechanisms of bombardment-induced surface chemistry, a key part of nonequilbrium chemistry during PE #ALEtch doi.org/10.1063/5.0155929
simbu winning in a photo finish has got me wanting to run through a brick wall in my long run tonight
every week i say cal football has a real chance to do something this season
every week i'm proven wrong in a new exciting way
an auspicious sign that cal could do something similar

10/10 deep cut and my favorite sign so far on @CollegeGameDay
absolutely ridiculous feat from the woman who also gave us some of the best finish line quotes (after winning that one too, youtube.com/shorts/SUJJ-mgZ8…)
SIFAN HASSAN IS ONE OF ONE 🇳🇱
After taking bronze in the 5,000m and 10,000m on the track, Sifan Hassan comes out and wins GOLD in the women's marathon in 2:22:55 -- a new Olympic record.
She showed off her track speed and sprinted past world record holder Tigst Assefa 🇪🇹 in the final homestretch.
Easily one of the greatest feats in distance running of all-time.
Assefa takes silver in 2:22:58 and Boston Marathon champion Hellen Obiri 🇰🇪 grabs bronze in 2:23:10.

Final paper from my PhD is now online: doi.org/10.1063/5.0180299
in which we propose and demonstrate the use of high throughput density functional tight binding simulations as a useful tool for studying ion bombardment of semiconductor surfaces :)
New(ish) paper in @JPhysChem! We study how silicon nitride changes w/ argon bombardment with adsorbed hydrofluorocarbons, relating chemical change to physical defects, and noting that modification continues even after adsorbate decomposition and reaction.
