I couldn’t have done this without countless teachers, students and colleagues across the country. You know who you are. Shout out especially to Liza and Medha, the OG Student Advisory Board.   That is all. More to come. Happy earth day, everyone. 🌿8/8

By allowing students to take the lead on climate discussions and projects, educators can help students grow to be passionate about activism. It is vital that students feel empowered and heard by their teachers. (1/2) #TeachClimateChat

It’s the season for coat, toy and food drives and volunteering at the local soup kitchen. These are important because people have needs that need help now. But it’s not so clear that participating in those is as simple and feel-good as some think 1/10

1/12 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is upon us. So it’s time for my yearly rant to educators about the white-washing and co-opting of King’s “I Have A Dream” speech.

This country has ignored and abused Black women since the beginning. And still, again and again, Black women have resisted, risen, and led the revolution. @staceyabrams you won’t get enough credit for your brilliance. There should be parades in your name and statutes.

@cheney_munson I now have a new favorite staff developer who taught me so many ways to Untap the Power of Nonfiction with my Reading 6 students @DHMiddleAPS today. BONUS: @MaryEhrenworth zoomed in and taught us, too! Thank you for teaching me so many great strategies! #tcrwp

There are people leading schools who believe that nurturing the humanity & wellbeing of teachers is “fluff” & a waste of time. These people say their teachers need to learn the curriculum b/c teachers are failing children. These people don’t realize they are failing teachers. – at Brooklyn, NY
