FINAL: Brewers 6, Dodgers 4
The Milwaukee Brewers are going to the World Series after sweeping the two-time defending champion Dodgers. The Brewers came back from down 4-0 to advance to their first World Series since 1982 and exact revenge on the Dodgers’ NLCS sweep last year.

A key reason capitalism isn’t more popular is that it’s unintuitive and hard to understand.
The reason it’s nevertheless the prevailing economic system (though imperfectly implemented) is that it’s so effective.

The Overlap guests were asked for ideas for the best front 3 of all time. Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez plus the Liverpool 3 were mentioned and MSN of course as well as the Brazilians.
Jill Scott's entry was Beckham, Giggs and Cole. Bless her.

Personal view is this is rather an encouraging story as the UK has a Prime Minister who seems to understand that encouraging inward investment requires engagement - not simply taxing risk-taking, and grandstanding.
And I say this as a Hull City fan who (according to the Beeb) have been the second highest victims of Man City's spending.....
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham's meetings and dealings with Manchester City's owners have now been published
- He was a guest of Manchester City at home matches on a "small number of occasions", including Vincent Kompany’s 2019 testimonial, where he met the Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak "informally" in the stands
- In October 2021, he had a "formal meeting" with Al Mubarak at the UK Government’s Global Investment Summit
- Representatives from Manchester City, Manchester United and Lancashire Cricket Club joined mayoral visits to India, China, Japan, the US and Ireland

Talarico questioned by a voter about the comments on God’s gender.
Talarico admits he was annoying. He’s charming and makes good points. He mentions that Charlie Kirk also said God is beyond gender.
No wonder he’s doing so well.
A great candidate.

Arsenal overall the only Premier League capable of winning the Champions League. And I’m not saying that because of today, UCL group stage games never tell the full truth. It’s just my general feeling for the last 2 years now. Credit where it‘s due

The concept of believing this release strategy is going to work, four movies in one month will confuse and overwhelm the majority of people and they’ll wait for streaming, like what are we doing here
The Beatles biopics producer explains the idea behind releasing all four movies at once in 2028:
"We want people to be able to experience them in the cinema during the same period. Now that doesn't necessarily mean we're thinking that people will go and see all four films on the same day, but you know within the same month you might see one a week, or you might see one one weekend to the next, one the next. However you you see it, I think our hope is that people will see all four films.
You know they they stand alone as individual stories of each of those four men, but they they have a cumulative power, which I think is is greater than the sum of the parts. You know, the Beatles are simply the I think the greatest band in in history, and you know we're trying trying to do our best to do them justice, so hence the four films. I don't think there's probably another band that you could legitimately say you wanted to see four films for."

Gillis’ monologue wasn’t great but so much in this video captures the rancid off-putting vibes of Peak Woke. Treating a joke as a serious thesis; rephrasing Gillis to make it seem worse; the tone of sneering, smug superiority. Hope we’ve seen the last of elites talking like this.

The bankruptcy petition filed against Jamie Carragher has been formally dismissed by a judge.
Carragher had been the subject of the petition, filed in August by His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) over an unpaid tax bill.
At the time, sources with knowledge of the situation expected the issue to be resolved quickly, and Judge Nicholas Briggs dismissed it in London on Tuesday at the Insolvency and Companies Court after a payment was made.
A bankruptcy petition is an application to a court used to recover funds and, according to HMRC, is the “last resort” to chase unpaid taxes.
