So I levelled up & made a 3D otter designed by the SG TraceTogether team. It's traced from the 2D art, looks almost the same & made with @splinetool Here's a web page showing its 3D-ness my.spline.design/otter-98d40… Had a lot of fun designing this 🤩

We launched our IC Photo SG app in 2011(!) to help 🇸🇬 folks take IC/passport selfies - before "selfie" was even a word. This was our first iOS app, which we wrote in Objective-C. 700,000 downloads! Then we forgot to update it for 10 years... but now we're back!! Liquid Glass, iPhone Duo, ML image correction, accessibility, auto mode, and a new mascot Charlie. Download it for free at icphoto.tk.sg, and try it out on the iPhone Duo (that I'll only be able to try in January, because I forgot to preorder until an hour after the launch). Massive thanks to @jiachenyee for his code artistry in implementing features and cleaning up my slop cannon operating! Even in this age of AI-generated code, there's more room than ever for coders who truly care about the work they do.

An app inspired by the Chinese daily tear-off calendar should let users tear off the pages right? Yes! Sound on 🔊 ! Thank you Opus 5.5, Metal Shaders + SwiftUI 🙏🏻

RustGIS now maps the Moon, Mars and beyond 🪐 Until now, every RustGIS map was a map of the Earth. Now one click takes it to another world: pick a celestial body from the planet button at the top of the Layers pane, or under Celestial Bodies in the Basemap gallery. What you get - 12 bodies: Earth, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, the Galilean moons (Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto), Titan, Pluto and Charon. - Measurements on the right body: the Measure tools, the scale bar, the map scale and layout scale bars all use that body's radius, so a kilometer on Mars is a Martian kilometer. - Your own data on top: add vector or raster layers, style, label and run geoprocessing tools as you would on Earth. The body is saved with the project. - Scriptable like everything else: map.body={"name": "mars"} from the command line, Python or the AI Assistant. The basemaps come from OpenPlanetaryMap and USGS Astrogeology, served through the opengeos tile service shared with GeoLibre, so they work in the browser too. Try it out - Launch the web app and switch to Mars: web.rustgis.app - GitHub: github.com/opengeos/RustGIS The desktop apps get it in the next release. #GIS #Rust #OpenSource #PlanetaryScience #Mars #Moon #Geospatial

My legs were trembling through my first lightning talk at Singapore Product Design. Afterwards, a few people walked up, keen to use Feedback Tunnel on their own prototypes. Here's what I shared: turning a vibe-coded localhost site into a live link people can comment on 🧵

Need a San Francisco map for a project? My SF Map SVG library works offline with zero runtime dependencies. Customize neighborhoods, parks and BART, then export an SVG or embed an interactive map. kahwee.github.io/sf-map-svg/… github.com/kahwee/sf-map-svg

Last time I found learning Chinese idioms this fun was watching 熊貓博士 teach 成語 in 成語動畫廊 as a kid! Now you can learn a new chinese idiom every day with this app @FiachraRM made.
My new app, Chengyu Calendar, is now out on the App Store! Heavily inspired by the beautiful Chinese daily tear-off calendar, I designed it to feel more like a physical object than a piece of software. Every day, it teaches you a new Chinese idiom, with its meaning, history and examples of how it’s actually used. I hope the Chengyu Calendar widget brings a little warmth and texture to your Home Screen, while helping you learn something new each day. Many more updates coming soon!

Honoured to be featured in Singapore’s Design 2035 Masterplan. Growing up in Singapore made designing for diverse audiences second nature. Proud to see that perspective represented. Read more here: designsingapore.org/design20…
