this dress is not at all ridiculous for the context imo.. she is from Essentially the richest family in town and on reaping day you Have to dress your best ?? this is very believably what she’d own & wear to the reaping it looks handmade & it’s not like it’s made of solid gold
like what are we doing? i know the merchants are more well off than the seam folk but this is so ridiculous it takes me out of the story 😭

That’s why I love that the show made it clear that Penelope’s inability to succeed in the marriage mart was a combo of bad family reputation + her chronic shyness and introverted nature + her mother forcing her into horrible clothing and hairstyles and NOT her physical appearance
and they want me to believe that people saw her looking like this and didn’t want to marry her??!

BECAUSE HIS WIFE WAS DOING ALL THE WORK
There was a time when Taika Waititi seemed incapable of missing. WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE, THOR: RAGNAROK and JOJO RABBIT showed a filmmaker who could balance absurd comedy with genuine emotional depth. Now KLARA AND THE SUN (2026), his adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams, has debuted with just 20% on Rotten Tomatoes, marking the lowest score of his directing career. The criticism is particularly striking given the material. Ishiguro’s novel explores loneliness, artificial intelligence, love and what makes us human. Several critics argue that Waititi’s trademark quirky humour and sentimentality undermine the story’s quieter philosophical questions. After the divisive reception to THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER and NEXT GOAL WINS, this is another difficult reception for a filmmaker whose earlier work once felt so distinctive. The question now is whether Waititi can recapture the balance of humour and humanity that made his best films resonate so strongly.

There’s a really good article written years ago about how the Kardashians very intentionally put the girls in the family at the forefront of their content. And that the boys are more protected, seen considerably less and, when they are, it’s way less curated.
Kim Kardashian shared new photos of her daughter Chicago West, niece Dream Kardashian (Rob’s daughter), and niece True Thompson (Khloé’s daughter), all looking absolutely adorable in matching bright red traditional Chinese qipaos! 🥹 The three cousins are just too cute! ❤️

Her coming to terms with the fact that he fell in love with the idea of her and her potential aesthetically is really sad I’m sorry :(
Kim Kardashian reflects on her past relationship with Ye, and how he changed her life ❤️‍🩹 “That time in my life was so, so much fun. And so special. It was, like, the normal years, the calm before the storm.” “I realize that he loves, like, a project, right? I think he really fell in love with the idea of me, and the project behind it all. He loves things that maybe aren't cool and 'I'm going to make them cool.'” “Whether it's, like, 'I’m going to stop rapping and do a whole singing album, like 808s [& Heartbreak].'” “And everyone’s like, 'How could you not rap? It's blasphemy!' And then it’s the best album.” “I think he's like, 'Let me be with a reality star. No one respects it. I’m going to show you how cool it is.' He changed my life. He absolutely changed my life.” She also explained how Ye would love to style her, and her openness to learn about high fashion from him: “I just didn’t know anything about high fashion. There were all these fashion books piled up. It was time to get to work and learn. He gave me so much confidence.” (Via The Cut)
