Replying to @chatnbug
rip lesbian miraculous ladybug you would’ve been amazing feminist commentary on conformity and the need to break out of the patriarchy (adrienne) and the oppression of being a woman of color and the internalized pressure to be apart of patriarchal standards and ideals (marinette)

this isnt Mari hate btw it isn’t her fault she’s 14 and doesn’t understand the nuances of the modeling industry and how sanitized Adrien was 😭 She literally advocates for him later

Adrien in general reminds me of disney princesses.. hes so princess.. not only in his beauty but the constant way he’s seen as an idealized version by people. Gabriel objectifies him, the public loves the sanitized image, and Marinette at first only really likes the idea of him.

Both have parts of their “true selves”. What ACTUALLY makes Marichat so good is that they bring out these traits in eachother. Marinette feels she can display Ladybugs confidence near Chat Noir, and Chat feels like he can be more soft around Marinette like Adrien.

Both sides are two halves of a whole and have traits Maribug and Adrichat embody. Over the series we see them learn from these flaws and become more rounded people. Marinette is more confident, Ladybug is more vulnerable, Adrien is more free, and Chat is more down to earth.
