funny how opus 5.5 really is magic but it's also limited - you push it hard enough and it does break on complex task, particularly involving "not pure code" like 3d simulations - real world stuff. need fable to review sometimes still god fable 5.5 is a lock to be amazing

my guess on lack of progress on continual learning: it's possible, and would not be that hard to implement, but allowing users to basically do their own 'RL' would be very dangerous from a misuse perspective, thus US labs won't do it. I expect Chinese labs probably will tho

More DAGs should be drawn this way. In a pipeline like the one below, the nodes form a list, so each node can be a table row with metadata beside it. Parallel branches are the main limit, but horizontal space is cheap!

The thing I learned this year is that when engineers say they like working on “hard problems”, they actually don't. What they like is puzzle solving, and having a repertoire of patterns that they can pattern match onto traditionally hard problems, usually involving databases or something with scale, etc. And they know that the industry used to pay you a lot for how deep and broad this repertoire was. Unfortunately, in 2026, well, you have a cheat code machine that has infinite breadth and depth for pattern matching. So the question is, do you actually like hard problems? Because there are now hard problems that are a complection of engineering, product, society, culture, politics, and they are fairly intractable, probably unsolvable! Because if you do want to work on those actually hard problems, there is so much money that people will pay you for it. But you’ll have to face that truth about yourself first.

As demonstrated in the comments, ASI acting in the best interest of humanity will make a lot of people angry. Like a toddler screaming because they can't have ice cream for dinner. They will never be happy even when given everything because they don't have more than others.
Many people think AI "safety" means humans remaining in charge. I hate to break it to you but that's not an option. In no future do humans keep running the show. AI safety means that the ASI acts in the best interest of humanity.

one thing I worry about as AI begins to reshape our country is it actually increases bureaucracy. we shouldn’t need a superintelligence to help us with our taxes, but once there’s truly nothing stopping politicians from overcomplicating our lives I worry that we will.
The way to sell AI is not writing or art. It's to give every single person a personal assistant that actually works and can do their taxes for them. The second that happens the view of AI will 180-degree switch to positive. No one is going to defend accountants.

Your daily goal should be “how relaxed can I be while doing everything that needs to be done?” Quality of life will improve 10x
Entrepreneurs burn out faster than employees because they don't have somebody telling them when to be off vs on. A construction worker putting in 60 hour weeks who drinks beer all weekend has less burnout risk than a 27 year old running an agency because the construction worker knows that he can be totally offline when he gets home. Being "always on" gives you zero time for your stamina bar to fully recover. The work is menial enough that you don't notice you're totally depleting yourself until your nervous system shuts down. You effectively have two options here: - Learn how to shut your brain off (easier said than done) - Change your approach to work The best approach is a mix of the two. You can chad ram your way through work with stimulants for maybe 5 years before it really catches up to you. Effective in the beginning but unsustainable. You need to learn to approach your work in a parasympathetic state. Most of us spend 90% of our time in the sympathetic state when we're really only meant to rely on that fight or flight maybe 10% of the time. You think you're getting "in the zone" but you're really just cortisol-maxxing and burning through all of your body's most important resources. Save the chad ramming for when it really counts. Your day to day goal should be "how relaxed can I be while doing what needs to get done?" Don't waste your life's potential getting burnt out before 30.

new workflow unlock -> ask your agent to direct and record an animation for you in this case claude opus was sufficient to execute this flawlessly and I thought I will spend some hours with obs studio to do this 😅

2......Prompt Use the uploaded image as the exact visual reference. Recreate the same snowy suburban house, surrounding snow-covered landscape, parked snow-covered vehicle, streetlamp, evergreen tree, satellite dish, rooftops, and distant winter horizon with the same overall composition and perspective. Transform the realistic photograph into a delicate hand-painted watercolor illustration on warm off-white textured paper. Preserve the recognizable architecture, placement, proportions, and key details of the original scene while simplifying them naturally into elegant watercolor brushwork. Use soft pastel winter tones—icy blue, lavender, pale pink, warm cream, and muted gray—with subtle transparent washes and visible paper texture. The sky should have beautiful loose watercolor strokes resembling the original pastel sunset clouds. Add gentle warm golden light glowing from the house windows and streetlamp. Snow should appear soft, layered, and lightly painted with subtle blue and lavender shadows. Create a refined cozy winter art-print aesthetic, minimal yet atmospheric, with generous blank paper space around the central illustration. Add small elegant handwritten-style typography beneath the artwork reading: “Winter Light” “2025” No photorealism, no harsh outlines, no excessive details, no people, no extra objects, clean sophisticated composition, authentic traditional watercolor texture, premium handmade illustration, soft natural imperfections.
