Lucas made a gorgeous 7 hour long movie for children about how entitlement and fear of loss turns good people into fascists, and did it while spearheading nearly every technical sea change in modern filmmaking of the past 30 years.
I always call these Consumer's Report reviews. The problem I have is that they turn the game into a consumer product rather than a piece of art trying to communicate a theme, idea, or message. It's just a toaster being judged for how well it toasts bread.

Luke refusing to mythologize, and then immediately discarding a weapon — his own, no less — shows us in 30 seconds how much he has changed and grown since the Original Trilogy. All without saying a single word. It's an excellent scene. And Star Wars fans hate it passionately.
