When 1000s of Hindus were massacred by Muslims in Calcutta, Gandhi was asked what Hindus should do in such cases, he replied: “If through deliberate courage the Hindus had died to a man, that would have been deliverance of Hinduism & India & purification of Islam in this land” Gandhi would repeat this theme again & again that Hindus should willingly die at Muslim hands. The bizarre justification was that “If we were to be killed, would we rather not be killed by our Muslim brothers?” On April 6, 1947, at a prayer meeting for Rawalpindi victims, he exhorted Hindus to face death bravely if Muslims wanted to kill them all, without harboring any hate for their killers. That way Hindus could usher in a "new world order by sacrificing our lives" for Muslim rule. Despite all the violent massacres orchestrated by Muslim League, Gandhi supported Jinnah's lies. He told Hindus "to face death cheerfully if Muslims were out to kill them" Not once did he ever say the same words to Muslims asking them to die quietly at Hindu or Sikh hands.
