Introducing FLUX 3 Max.
Fastest in the west. Fast enough to try anything. And everything.
Generate a 10-second video in 12 seconds.
Tied for #1 in image-to-video. 22× faster than Seedance 2.5 at the same quality.
FLUX 3 is a model designed for customization. @fal adapted and optimized it to create FLUX 3 Max.

i once was talking to a guy who started a company and sold it to google and asked him for advice and he said something like
you know diego.. the only advice that is objectively true is “take more pictures”
and i still think about that

The "whiteboard defense:" I should be able to pull you aside at any moment and ask you to explain any customer-facing system you've shipped. You should be able to clearly explain how it works and defend the decisions you made. This is my benchmark for responsible AI usage.
I don't expect line-level familiarity with the code. I don't care if you remember the exact function name or implementation detail. You may not even know it. I don't care.
But if I ask "why did you do X instead of Y?", "what happens if this actor behaves maliciously?", "what data structure did you use here and why?", or "where does this fail?" you should be able to answer confidently.
For PoCs, demos, experiments, whatever: I don't care. Generate 100% of it and understand none of it. Speed over quality every time in those specific scenarios.
But if you're shipping customer-facing work, you can't be shipping things you don't understand at a high level.
Reference-to-video on H3 Max is now generally available. Up to 2X faster, with significantly higher quality.
-> RTF down from 1.5 to 0.876, so real-time generation now works with up to 4 references
-> Better context understanding: references and prompt are automatically aligned in the same semantic domain
-> Much stronger reference preservation than both the preview and the original H3 versions, thanks to continued RL on character consistency and other tasks
Try it today ⚡️
Reference-to-Video is now live for MiniMax H3 Max on fal!
This is an early preview that can achieve up to RTF=1 (and with references around RTF=1.5) on 768p, and we aim to improve the speed by 2x while slashing costs during this week. Quality wise it delivers the same performance you come to expect from H3 Max.

It’s a weird complaint to have but with AI agents, that “flow state” during coding is gone (because the coding itself is gone.)
Every time I talk with a dev about work now vs before, it seems to come up, like today with a former colleague.
Are we over-glorifying it (I mean it wasn’t all roses, it was also frustration) or is it something important / relevant they we had but now don’t really have?

A line in AI video was crossed, in my experiments with just the web interface, H3 Max can now create reasonably high quality AI video in less time than it takes you to watch it. This is realtime from the moment I pushed the "generate" button (and also includes prompt enhancement)
Yesterday, we launched H3 Max.
We post-trained MiniMax H3 for stronger prompt adherence and visual quality, while co-designing the inference stack alongside it. As we pushed speed, we continuously tested for quality, only keeping optimizations that preserved the gains from post-training.
More on how we built H3 Max: blog.fal.ai/introducing-h3-m…
Introducing H3 Max, new post-trained video model by fal Research.
H3 Max ranks #1 for overall quality, prompt understanding, and aesthetics against leading video models, on both first-party and third-party independent evaluations while generating a 5-second 720p video under 3 seconds.
H3 Max is 50% off for the next week, making it the highest quality, fastest and cheapest model for overall video generation tasks.

So many S3 performance misunderstandings.
Let me clear this up for you all.
There is a lot of hype around putting the WAL on object storage.
However, for low-latency systems, e.g. OLTP databases, object storage is a suboptimal primitive for the WAL:
(1) PUTs are expensive for small WAL writes [bytes/$].
(2) Object stores are optimized for throughput, not latency, with write latencies often around 10-50 ms.
Because every transaction must wait for its WAL record to become durable, every transaction inherits that latency.
This points to a missing storage primitive.
In our (@maxikuschewski @melhindiCS @viktor_leis) latest accepted research paper at VLDB, we looked at how to close that gap.

Craziest eval chart I've seen in a while.
BREAKING: MiniMax H3 Max sets the new Pareto Frontier for video generation, nearly 50x faster than the base model.
This model is post-trained by @fal on @MiniMax_AI H3, and it's in a league of its own: no other Image to Video model on the arena delivers higher preference at a lower generation time.
Its Image-to-Video generation time is just 6.4 seconds, 18x faster than average, and its Text-to-Video generation time is just 4.7 seconds, 24x faster than the average.
Huge congratulations to the @fal team on this release!

Hank Green is a better person than all of us:
Hank green should be worth 500 million dollars.
He should be the second or third richest youtuber.
Instead, he has given nearly ALL of his net worth to charity.
Complexly, his education company, would probably sell for $250 MILLION dollars.
But just this year, he turned it into a non profit.
Hank Green is a better person than me.
He has raised over 30 million dollars to stop kids from dying in Sierra Leone.
He gives away ALL the profits from his ecom business- good store, which has given away over 10 MILLION dollars.
He hosts project for awesome, that raised 4 million dollars JUST THIS YEAR.
If you add it up, Hank Green has dedicated his channel, his time, and his money to making the world a better place- to the tune of at least 50 million dollars, but probably more like 200 million.
He is a better person than all of us.
A week ago, Hank Green became the person of the day across the whole internet.
A dogpile happened.
Every single person's anxiety and confusion about AI came crashing down on Hank. Wrongly.
Because Hank Green is actually thoughtful.
He had an ai usage policy in place.
AI was not used in his videos.
He didnt edit with it, it didnt write the words he said.
Disney doesnt have an ai usage policy in place.
No other creator on any platform has that.
But Hank does, because he tries to be thoughtful.
There are very few people I respect as much as Hank Green.
And I actually disagree with him on a lot of stuff.
Publicly this year, we got into a disagreement about ai data centers and water usage.
I accused him of spreading misinformation-
ai data center water usage is meaningless and is being used as a scapegoat. (we can debate power usage, or communties having a voice in what gets built, but data centers do not use any more water than basically anything else)
And I disagree with him on using ai in videos.
I think it is inevitable.
It will happen. It is here. The genie is out of the bottle.
Creators will need to adapt or be left behind.
BUT:
I can disagree with someone I respect.
And hank green deserves our respect.
There is no one who tries to do more good, who tries to minimize their harm, more than him.
He posted a video yesterday, like he has for the past 20 years, on his vlog brothers channel.
He talks about what his future should be in this new world.
And I feel bad.
I think we, the internet, have taken Hank Green and the work he does for granted.
How can someone do so much good, raise tens of millions of dollars for charity, and be consistent in who they are for two decades, yet still not get the benefit of the doubt.
Hank Green is the best among us.
I hope he comes back to the internet he deserves.
