"While waiving state and federal taxes on on-road fuel would not be a magic bullet to alleviate the pain from record fuel prices, it would amount to a 51.4 cent per gallon decrease in the price of diesel when hauling crops and cattle. In today's tight and negative margin environment, every little bit helps."

While in Ohio, it was great to stop at a 6th-generation family farm with @DerekMerrin, @DarinLaHoodIL, @Flood4Nebraska, and @RepDaleStrong. Derek Merrin will always fight to put family farms like this first across #OH09!

Serving as president of the National Corn Growers Association is a calling, and it's one Jed Bower answered without hesitation. As his term as president comes to a close and he steps into the role of Corn Board chairman, we want to recognize everything he has given to corn growers over the past year. Jed spent this year as a volunteer, and he gave it his all. He traveled the country, often far from his farm, his friends, and his family, to make sure corn growers had a strong voice wherever it mattered. Whenever farmers across the Corn Belt needed him, whether it was a late-night call, a last-minute trip, or a tough conversation, Jed showed up. Back home in Washington Court House, Ohio, Jed raises corn and soybeans on a fifth-generation family farm with his wife, Emily, and their children, Ethan and Emma. That deep connection to the land has guided every decision he's made on behalf of the farmers we represent. Jed, thank you for your steady leadership, your generosity with your time, and your passion for this work. To Emily, Ethan, and Emma, thank you for sharing him with farmers everywhere. We're so glad Jed's leadership will continue as chairman, and we can't wait to see what comes next. @OhioCornWheat

It’s been an honor to work with some amazing farmer leaders from all over the country the past five years, trying to find new ways to utilize the corn that we grow on our farms. I’m thankful, humbled, and blessed.

The engineers at @JohnDeere asked Josh Lancaster of L Hust Farms to put their E98 prototype tractor to the test, and he’s delivering. Would you use a tractor that runs on 98% ethanol?

Growing demand for livestock means growing demand for corn. The NCGA Trade, Transportation, and Animal Agriculture Action Team is supporting College Aggies Online, a program from the Animal Agriculture Alliance. Our farmer-leaders on this team want to build the next generation of informed advocates who can speak with confidence about why animal agriculture matters and where it's headed. NCGA President Jed Bower spoke with @the535news today to make the case for a farm bill and year-round E15. Farmers need farm policy certainty and drivers deserve an option that saves 10-30 cents on average at the pump.
