We are at 50k on iOS and I hope this version helps even more Canto users worldwide. It won't help my tenure case though... back to grant writing.

Submitted a paper to #Interspeech2026 and got rejected (WA-WA-WA). It’s pretty disheartening, so I’m posting this in case it helps other rejected authors feel a little less alone :)

I’ve been digging into the Phonetics 2025 conference recently held in Hong Kong and what I found is deeply concerning.
This may be a high-dollar scam targeting linguistics researchers and departments.

This is probably just a very expensive conference model.
But when you see such high-profile names on the board, you expect more involvement and support from the organizer.
The local team isn't to blame as they are a victim too.
