Vivek says we will defend Taiwan from China for 4 years until we achieve semiconductor independence and then resume strategic ambiguity. The fact is that you cannot, as POTUS say we are defending Taiwan for 4 years and then just "resume" our ambiguous position. Taiwan is a tripwire for war, with China predicated on the false assumption that they are the only place we can make semiconductors. We can not return to ambiguity after 3 years of telling China we are going to war with them. The ambiguity worked because we never directly told China we would fight them for Taiwan. Further, we build robots that produce semiconductors right here in the US. I literally worked at the plant, which does this. There is no reason we can not have semiconductor independence now other than a narrative builder that we have to protect Taiwan at all costs. I'm the only candidate running today for any party that will pull us out of all foreign entanglements and keep us from war with China and/or Russia on day one.
