If you are thinking about using the phrase “racially-charged” in a headline or news report today — stop. Hit delete. Start over and make it plain. The shooter in Buffalo called himself a racist in his manifesto so you can too.

Yesterday, on April 20, Derek Chauvin, the police officer who murdered George Floyd was declared guilty on all 3 counts. Earlier in the afternoon, a 16 year old black girl, Ma’Khia Bryant, was killed by police in Columbus, Ohio. The verdict for Chauvin was not justice. (1/5)

There are no Black women in the Senate. They don't have our voice there to tell them that the Jim Crow filibuster is killing us.
Tomorrow, I'm holding a press conference at the Capitol to make it clear: to save lives, we must eliminate the Jim Crow filibuster.
