CFIB is pleased to see @ottawacity mayoral candidates take small business concerns seriously and pledge practical measures to support them.
At @CFIBNews we are advocating for the small business property tax subclass reduction to increase from 15 per cent to 25 per cent and to provide businesses with the opportunity to report red tape concerns directly to their municipalities through a dedicated portal. Both are concrete measures that will go a long way to make it easier to run a business in Ottawa.
We urge all mayoral candidates in Ottawa and across Ontario to address the challenges facing small businesses by committing to reducing municipal red tape, providing tariff and tax relief, mitigating construction-related disruptions, and finding municipal savings.

Excessive forms, processes and rules around permits, signs and business licensing are making it harder to run a small business in Ontario. With municipal elections this October, it’s time to push for less red tape❗

Your pharmacist. Your marine supplier. Your detailer. They know you by name — and this tax cut helps keep it that way.
Small business has always been about building relationships with customers, one visit at a time. With Ontario's Small Business Tax Rate down from 3.2% to 2.2%, owners are saving up to $5,000 a year and reinvesting it right in the communities they serve.
