Knox survived but lost 10 pounds, developed severe heartworms, and was described as generally unkept. Durall pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts. He got a suspended one-year sentence, two years probation, 15 days actually served, and $8,900 restitution. Fifteen days for starving one dog to death and letting another rot beside him.
