This is crazy. Investigating cases (even low risk ones) is WAY beyond a teacher’s area of expertise. We cannot build trusting relationships and investigate cases at the same time. lakelandtoday.ca/local-news/…

It’s too bad that mandate frustrations are spilling over into schools. I worry that parent/student/teacher trust is being eroded by misplaced blame. We need to refocus on being partners to build positive conditions for learning.

We have some seriously awesome and creative kids!

Please research the trustees in your area and get out and vote! It is a really important year; key issues in schools include improving mental health supports for students and navigating the pandemic.

Dear calculator manufacturers: please stop rounding the last digit on the screen. Signed, middle school math teachers and students who take everything at face value. #math
This could be a game changer!
Hey #btps28 teachers, if you haven’t already checked out Mote, adding voice to your Google Forms could be a big win over these next few weeks.

Our school is so lucky to have such a passionate band teacher! So happy to hear music in our halls again 🙂
So nice to hear music in the music room again! Thanks Miranda for coming in to start us off right! @KHS_Cavaliers #MusiCounts

Check out this thorough analysis of the current draft curriculum. The highlight pages given to the public are very deceiving. There are too many concerning issues to even consider piloting it. #throwitout alberta-curriculum-analysis.…
I’ve never been much for politics but this year it’s impossible to ignore the blatant lies, disrespect and incompetence of our gov’t. Thank you to politicians like Janis who still listen and act like real, compassionate humans should. ❤️
Albertans are continually being dismissed and disparaged by this premier and his government. I don’t accept that anyone should be treated this way. And I don’t accept that this is the way it has to be. Do you? #ableg

This is so good! A brilliant use of technology and engineering.
I love his YT Channel if you've never heard of him before! The world is a better place because of guys like Mark Rober. This just proves you should never upset an engineer who has extra time! Now spread the word of his good cause! youtube.com/watch?v=VrKW58MS…

The cycle of moving to online learning for students to isolate and then moving back to in person, (or doing both at the same time) is EXHAUSTING and FRUSTRATING for everyone (teachers, parents and students).

The UCP government never consulted about changes to #Alberta pensions. After blindsiding teachers and rushing changes through the #ableg in days, the UCP promised ATRF would control investment policy. They lied. Again. @SPhillipsAB and I call on the Minister to do better.

You can’t expect students to follow rules that the teacher doesn’t have to adhere to. #teaching101 Get it together politicians!

This is why math fluency is important!
Jeez the Alberta government is really going hard with these misleading bar graphs that make small differences appear much larger.

The suggestions and advice coming from the current curriculum advisers are bizarre to say the least. What a waste of taxpayer dollars and time.
Advisers chosen by the Alberta government are recommending changes to the kindergarten-to-Grade 4 curriculum that would eliminate all references to residential schools and "equity." cbc.ca/1.5766570 @Jantafrench

Please share!! Any help would be appreciated! I'm making a teacher family feud game and could use anyone's help in answering a few fun school related poll questions. I can definitely share the answers and game when I'm done! forms.gle/euRSjAocJXEiWziU9

I have so many questions and concerns....The math example in this clip alone is a clear indication of being completely out of touch with good pedagogy and what is really happening in our education system. #abed we’re in trouble with this leadership!
Asking for time off from a retail job at the GAP will now be illegal. Also, a demonstration on how to do math! #ableg #abed
