離婚の日、義実家を出ようとした私に、義父がゴミ袋を渡した。
「これも捨ててから行け」
「……私の荷物ですか？」
「いいから持っていけ。もうこの家には関係ないものだ」
義母は横で笑っていた。
「最後まで面倒をかける嫁ね」
夫も冷たく言った。
「早く出ていってくれよ」
私は何も言わず、袋を受け取った。
駅へ向かう途中、袋の中から紙のようなものが見えた。
不思議に思い、近くのベンチで開いてみた。
中には古い領収書と写真、それに小さな封筒が入っていた。
「……これ、どうして？」
写真に写っていたのは、結婚前の夫だった。
隣には、私の知らない女性が立っていた。
封筒を開くと、義父の字で手紙が書かれていた。
「すまなかった。あの家では、これを渡せなかった」
私は息をのんだ。
さらに領収書の日付を確認すると、夫が説明していた出張の日と一致していた。
そのとき、義父から電話がかかってきた。
「袋は開けたか？」
「……はい」
義父はしばらく黙り、低い声で言った。
「それを持って、明日弁護士のところへ行きなさい」

Home alone when I heard my mother’s bedroom door creak open.
At first, I thought it was the wind. Then I heard a man’s voice.
“Is she asleep?”
I froze…..
My mother was supposed to be at work, and I was certain nobody else was in the house.
I slowly reached for my phone and called her.
“Mom, are you home?”
She answered immediately. “No, sweetheart. Why?”
I swallowed.
“There’s someone in your bedroom.”
Silence.
Then my mother whispered, “Listen to me carefully. Don’t make a sound. Get out of that house.”
Before I could ask why, she said something that made my blood run cold.
“Baby… I locked that bedroom before leaving, and there’s something inside that room you must never see.”
Suddenly, the bedroom door opened wider.
And a voice behind me said…
“Your mother should have told you the truth.”………

He wants a baddie on his arm, but can’t afford the lifestyle he’s trying to flex.
He calls his baby mama bitter, but still hasn’t paid child support.

He’ll call a woman a gold digger for wanting financial stability, then get mad when she refuses to struggle with him.
He wants a baddie with designer bags, a nice body, and expensive taste.
But when she asks what his plans are, suddenly she’s doing too much.
He wants the luxury girlfriend package on a dollar-store budget.
And the audacity to say women only care about money?
You can’t sell a broke dream to a woman who’s already paying for her own reality.

娘：「お父さん、あと3万円送ってもらえない？ もうお金が足りなくて……」
私：「またか？ 2週間前に12万円送ったばかりだろ。いったい何に使ったんだ？」
娘：「今月はいろいろ出費が多くて……」
私：「どんな出費だ？ 家賃も大学に必要なお金も送っているだろう？」
娘：「お願い、お父さん。詳しいことはまた今度話すから。本当に必要なの」
私は不満だったが、結局またお金を送った。
