“And if you loved anything that much, that much, you would fight too. You might die, but you might live.”
Being sober has really changed my social life. I don’t mind how boring I’ve become, but I recognize that I’m not the friend you take to certain places. I’ll make us go home early shame 🫠

The Nelson Mandela Foundation congratulates Navanethem Pillay on being awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to promote peace and international law.
Pillay has spent decades advancing justice, accountability and the protection of human rights.
Her career includes defending those who stood against apartheid, serving as a judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Her recognition is a significant moment for South Africa and for the broader struggle for justice and human dignity. Her lifelong commitment to these principles reflects the values Nelson Mandela championed and the work that remains necessary to realise a more just world.
We congratulate Navi Pillay on this honour and recognise a lifetime of work in pursuit of justice.

Congratulations to my lovely pupil, Norma Monama, on passing the GCB exams. Norma and I agreed early in the year on a straight pass (no orals, no rewrites) and my goodness, I couldn’t be prouder.
We have both been in tears all afternoon.
“Attrition statistics reflect that black juniors continue to leave the Bar in greater numbers. Over the last 5 years, 406 junior counsel (with more than 1 year of seniority) left the JSA.”
The JSA only accepts about 80 pupils a year.

Bruh!
Cabanga Advocates, who are on 90 days. Now imagine a baby junior who’s just finished a year of pupilage and now faces Chamber fees, and other business expenses. You can see how/ why transformation of the profession is still a long way out…💔
To be young, Black, female, and appearing in the Constitutional Court. May these kids hold on to this moment and go on to do great things.❤️
People on Twitter have found a way to criticize the children debating in the Constitutional court. Are people insane? Do people not know how to apply context to situations?
I hope the men who sit in rooms, on panels, boards, EXCOs and in meetings that don’t include women notice the absence. And then insist that women are included.
Transformation must be intentional.
There are things that will happen to you, and you will never be the same again.
Some experiences change you.
Transformation does not happen by chance; it must be intentional.
