I distinctly remember multiple cities getting burned down all summer and having Black Lives Matter force fed into every sporting event for two years straight.
Not one of them has said a word about Brian Cole Jr.
No Al Sharpton. No protests. No media coverage. No press conferences.
Nada.
An autistic black guy got framed for terrorism and has sat in a jail cell for over a year. Video evidence appears to exonerate him completely. None of them care even slightly.
Worse, Trump has let one of his supporters rot so that the CIA can get away with a false flag on American soil meant to criminalize the entire MAGA movement.
It's one of the biggest scandals in American history and it barely makes a sound.

Mitch Green defended the two-day takeover of Portland State University’s library by 42 “protesters” in April 2024—which caused $1.2 million in damage—as “free speech.”
Free speech for the occupiers. A $1.2 million bill for taxpayers. And a locked-out library for PSU students trying to study for midterms. What about their rights? Their education? Their ability to peacefully use a public university library?
Apparently, when activists occupy a building and cause millions in damage, that’s protected expression.
But when I repeat four words from the 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder in City Hall Chambers, Mitch Green & Candace Avalos deems it hate speech and have me thrown out.
That is a breathtaking double standard.
The ideology I see at work here is authoritarian: excusing disruptive behavior by political allies while silencing speech deemed unacceptable by those in power.
When the rules change depending on whose speech you approve of, free expression becomes a privilege granted by political gatekeepers—not a principle applied equally to everyone.
This is bigger than Mitch Green. Bigger than the DSA. Bigger than one political dispute.
It is a battle over whether government officials serve the public or police public opinion; whether free speech applies to everyone or only the ideologically approved; and whether courage means defending rights you disagree with—or censoring people you don’t like.
Darkness thrives when people are afraid to speak. Authoritarianism thrives when dissent is punished. And freedom dies when political leaders decide that their allies deserve a megaphone while their critics deserve expulsion.
Portland deserves better.
