Joseph Warren, M. D., politician, soldier and composer: "Free America", his great revolutionary hit 🤔
Dr. Joseph Warren was a close friend and family doctor to John and Abigail Adams. Not long before Dr. Warren died, their son, seven-year-old John Quincy suffered a badly fractured finger that risked amputation. Dr. Warren stepped in and used an ingenious array of splints to successfully save the finger, allowing the future president to regain full use of his hand and write normally for the rest of his life. John Quincy Adams never forgot the compassionate medical care he received. Years later, he recounted being deeply devastated by Dr. Warren's tragic death at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775, writing about mingling his tears with his mother's over the loss of his "beloved physician".
