Labor Day exists because workers fought for something we now consider basic: fair pay, reasonable hours, and the idea that your time and labor have value.
But more than a century later, teachers are still expected to donate theirs.

I can honestly say that I had no idea just how much teachers do—or how much they sacrifice—until I became one. I never truly understood the long hours, the emotional weight, the relentless dedication, or the deep love that keeps us going, even when the world seems against us.
